Agreed.

Last year the Chiefs lost Maclin to an ankle injury in the Wild Card game which rendered him ineffective vs. New England.

Also Houston already beat the Chiefs this season despite shitty QB play, so it isn't like playing them with Savage would equal an automatic win.

But what if you treated San Diego like a virtual bye week? I wouldn't do it. But it's an interesting thing to consider. Hell, wouldn't be the first time our backups clowned the SD starters.

A bit too risky, IMO.

They're a shit team so I'd be OK with resting guys who are ailing like Ware and Houston, but other than that we've kinda got to win this one.

You know that's true and a good way to think of it. The bye gives you a week off and 1 less game to play or have to win.

More likely to win 3 games vs 4 and have everyone stay healthy.
