Eating food past the "best by" date. Do you?

As you can tell by my CP handle, I'm a fan of thrill seeking, risk-taking and general daredevilism when there's a carefully planned approach.

I just ate yogurt with an August 10 date on the side.

It was as single-serve, unopened Chobani Blueberry that was in my fridge the entire time I've owned it. Visual inspection showed some clear liquid at the top, smell was normal, taste was normal.

What's your take? Daredevil factor from 1-10 (1 being wet-Charmin safe and 10 being "hold my beer") am I going to live?

BTW do you eat food past the due date? What's your policy?

Holy shit i've never seen anyone get so pissed off about the "antifreeze" insult that has been a moniker staple in the Chiefs Planet since i don't know when this is funny shit. Over 30K post even. You would have thought he told you to go run into a burning Aids tree.

I really hope you didn't take it that seriously

True story and this is extremely accurate with what Zebedee DuBols is saying

I had a temp job for Philips Lighting you know the company that makes light bulbs. My job was just packaging florescent lights, not a hard job but we packaged a shit ton of them. One day they had a shit ton of florescent bulbs and we was told to go dispose of them because the shelf life of these bulbs were 10 years they put too much gas in the product that makes them last a decade but they want the bulbs shelf life to last just 2 years so customers have to buy their products again and again. We broke and melted down $100,000.00 worth of florescent bulbs that day. They could have gone to schools and saved school budgets but that would cost a CO money. So anytime a bulb burns out and you have to replace it remember it's the manufactures who screwed you into buying the light bulbs.

Whe I was poor fresh out of college I used to go to this place called Salvage Food Mart in NKC. Yes it is as bad as it sounds. I got some non-perishable stuff but they were selling 2 year expired packaged lunch meat

I found two cans of Tuna in Extra Virgin Olive Oil in a backpack in my truck yesterday. They don't expire till 4/2020 but they've been in the heat of my truck since April. Anybody concerned that they would be bad ?

Then realize it was a joke. I won't use an ice pick that doesn't have AIDS on it in my ass though, just for point of reference.

Do you store your mustard, ketchup and bbq sauce in the fridge or out on the table after it's been opened and for how long?

If you're taking tablets, they're usually good for years. Capsules, you should be more judicious about throwing out past their expiration. Don't store your medicine in the bathroom, and pay attention to which meds need to be stored in a dark place (especially nitroglycerin, which should be disposed of after 6 months).
Why is that? Humidity?
