Seems like the Jets should have found a better backup QB in the first place. Rodgers already had a long history of injuries. Their entire season was riding on his health, which is crazy.

Uh...they used the 2nd overall pick on Wilson and Rodgers hasn't missed a game since 2017.

I can't imagine how much of a ****ing **** Wilson is. I've seen plenty of incredibly bad QBs that teammates refuse to give up on or badmouth. The entire team seems to legitimately despise him from what I've seen.

Teammates don't despise Russell Wilson. They probably find him tiresome and cringey, yes, but that's different than the outright visceral hatred Zach Wilson seems to have brought in himself.

And they knew Wilson was not good based on his performance on the field in 2 previous seasons. They would not have made the move for Rodgers if Wilson was developing properly as a #2 overall pick with a ton of playing time in 2021 and 2022.

If the Vikings let him walk this offseason, they'll get a 3rd comp pick a year out. Trading him for a 3rd just to advance the draft pick by a year has to be shit value.

You can't just cut Wilson his entire contract is basically guaranteed. On top of that who were they going to get as a backup...the Dolphins think they improved their backup QB by signing Mike White...who was the Jets backup they didn't win with last year...

Their ceiling with Cousins is probably one and done in the playoffs.

Better than with Zach Wilson obviously, but not a legit Super Bowl contender.
