One way or another, this whole deal is going to end up being fantastic. Mort, Scheffler, Nick (and Claythan), and Taco John are all taking pretty hard stances on this. Two of the four are going to crash and burn, and it's going to be glorious no matter what happens.

It is one of those weird no lose (and no win) situations....

My only hard stance on this is that Schefter has been as reliable as it comes when it comes to information surrounding Shanahan. It would be news in and of itself if Schefter got this wrong, because it will mean that Schefter - a guy who ghost wrote Shanahan's book and has a long and well established history with him - has had the carpet pulled out from under his feet by the man who has long been his bread and butter.

At this point in time, I see no reason not to believe Schefter when he says "I know for a fact they've not had contact to this point. The Chiefs may in fact reach out to him in the coming days and even then I firmly believe it will not change anything."

I tend to agree. And if Schefter is saying Cowher is at the top of our list, I'm curious to see if Pioli can convince Chin to come west...

Well, everybody just conveniently ignored it the first time so I'll say it again:

Where was Cowher last weekend? He wasn't sitting at the desk. And though I may be wrong, I believe that was ALSO the case the weekend before.

I remember watching both Championship games and wondering where the **** he was.

If you guys want to borrow our HOF coach to get you over the hump, I say be my guest. And if Broncos East happens to beat the real Broncos, and move on to the playoffs, I'll root you guys on.
