Sorry for your loss, Billay. I'm a dog person but had cats growing up. They're certainly not the same as dogs, but they're good pets in their own right. I'd suggest a shelter for another one, they will have no shortage. If you're lucky you can even find a Maine Coon. If it ever gets hit by a car it will likely total the vehicle...then eat the driver for its impudence.

My avatar is a reminder to people of the consequences who don't pay attention or, as in this case, drive while drunk. I'm a bicyclist and I pray every time I ride that people are paying attention and I don't get hit. I know some people that have not been so lucky.

I'm sorry to hear that. I lost one of my boys the day after Christmas last year, and I miss him badly. His 14th birthday would've been this week, so my other cat and I made a toast to him, me with a drink and him with a can of Fancy Feast. I was really impressed because my other cat doesn't eat canned food, but when I opened a can of Fancy Feast (my departed cat's favorite) and put it down, my remaining cat decided to eat the whole thing in his honor. It was touching.

He threw it all up on the couch about 15 minutes later, but that didn't affect the meaning behind it.
