A few thoughts:
Butker is definitely pulling his kicks to the left. I do think it is with Townsend as the holder since his last two kickoffs he made a point of putting those straight through the uprights. I know Butker approaches kicking as a science and is well aware of this trend. They will work through it but last night I started wondering if ew should have Henne as the holder. Can't be much worse and it would open up some interesting trick play possibilities. With Tyreek, when he went out of bounds on the one play I was only okay with it because I did not see him limping at all. I was worried about that hamstring for sure. Then on the deep pass, my first thought was that Patrick is going to give 'Reek all kinds of hell because 'Reek has always said that Patrick could not out throw him. Well, it happened on that pass! I also think that at least some of what we didn't see was due to Andy holding on to things in case we play them when it counts in the playoffs. Oh, and that pass interference on Tyrann should have been a holding call. The ball was not in the air at the time of the foul so it should not have been pass interference. I may be wrong here but think that is how this should have been called. Finally, speaking of the Tyrann, I have never seen a Honey Badger try to fly like he did as he was going into the end zone on the interception. ![]() |

One other thing to consider is that the Patriots have REAL problems with speed on the edge. They couldn't stop us when we'd send speed to the edge.
My question is why didn't they go to the well more? We kept running it up the middle, where they were doing a good job of stuffing it. I'm guessing it was because Reid tried to keep Belicheat guessing, but we didn't have the horses to move dudes in the middle and they didn't have the horses to get to the edge. It's also possible he was not wanting to bust Belicheat hard enough that he'd change scheme. The devil you know kind of thing. Anyway, just an interesting tidbit. |

The Chiefs offense would have looked less "contained" if they would have finished that opening drive (when they marched down the field), and Sammy Watkins didn't fumble when they were driving again.
I would like to see Andy rely on the pass more on early downs when the running game is struggling (too many 1-2 yard rushing plays on first/second downs). |

Re: #8.
I guess I could say I feel sorry for the Pats and maybe they got a little screwed on that ruling, but you know what? **** em. The rest of the NFL had to put up with their bullshit for years, the special ref Tom Brady love, the cheating, etc. This is merely ‘karma’ for the Tuck rule, amongst other things. You know what they say about karma. What goes around, comes around Patsies. Sorry you’ve lost your ‘favored’ status with the league. Prepare yourself to take it in the ass for several years while the league’s elite teams and QB’s get the benefit of the doubt on calls. Sucks to be you all. No fanbase deserves it more. Great read, George! |

The Faketriots built a dynasty and had 20 years worth of generous/favorable calls go their way... they get no sympathy.

Good job, Mr. gblowfish.
I would add that the defense that Billy Cheats rolled out in the first half was exceptional. They constantly switched up both the pre-snap and post-snap looks. As the Cheaters rolled into position and revealed their plan ... I'm not sure I've ever seen a defensive scheme like that in my life. There were snaps in which they rush 3, back everybody else off, and play some bizarre combo coverage of close zone while manning the running back, intermediate zone-match with spy and robber responsibility, combined with deep man and safety help. Meanwhile, they are roughing up the receivers off the line (nothing new there) and doubling crossing routes. Very unique. Very disciplined. Even so, Mahomes had opportunities and he was definitely off his game. He missed several shots he normally makes in his sleep. In his post-game presser, Mahomes stated that (in the heat of battle) he also didn't see open receivers. I haven't yet seen the All-22, so I reserve judgement on that. All in all, you have to respect the defense that the Cheaters fielded last night. Outstanding, really. My concern is that we could not run effectively against that defense. We should have been able to do so. Could it be that the pre-snap alignment was sufficiently disguised that Mahomes didn't check to a run? Was Wally unable to get a handle on their plan? Do we lack the ability to open proper holes for Clyde? Time will tell, I suppose. FAX |

Watching Patriots fans bitch about refs is hilarious, how the tide turns huh?
The other thing I've noticed is we are really hated by Seattle fans, I think it's their desire for Russ to win the MVP so they must hate on Mahomes because he's a threat. |
