I think LJ is done but even if you're in the camp that it's all the O-line's fault, what could the change hurt?

The dude is averaging 2 something per carry.

Switch it up. We have nothing to lose. Give Charles the start.

LJ is getting mugged by 2 or 3 defenders on almost every snap right now. Seriously. That happens to Charles and he gets hurt. GUARANTEED.

Much better to let LJ take the punishment and hope the OL un****s itself. Use Charles sparingly in the running game and more importantly KEEP HIM FRESH for the passing game, where he is OUTSTANDING.

Frankly, I'm embarrassed for LJ.

It's like watching an old show horse that used to leave other ponies in the dust and now limps around with no confidence with the knowledge that whatever it had that used to make it special is now long gone. Haley should show LJ mercy

You say that Charles will get hurt guaranteed. Okay lets find out. I think if he's sharing some carries with someone else (Battle, Savage) that wouldn't happen.

And no it's not better to let LJ take the punishment. I'm not interested in him receiving punishment. I'm interested in guys who average 2. something per carry sitting the bench.

If everybody else can't do better then feel free to put LJ back in there.

But if the O-line is going to continually not open holes, might as well put in a guy who can make someone miss. Maybe we'll catch a break. LJ can't make anybody miss. He's a guy who needs a clear lane and that just isn't going to happen this season.

This...

How do people know that Charles can't withstand the pounding and will get hurt? Charles carried the ball 258 times in his Junior season at Texas. He is now returning kicks, which is one of the easiest ways to get hurt in the NFL. Let's not see what one of KC's biggest threats can do because he won't hold up or get injured?

Charles is playing near the same weight that Priest Holmes was playing at. I just don't get this, "play Charles as a third down back" BS because he "may" get hurt. Who cares? What do we have to lose?

I've said it once in this thread, and I'll say it again. LJ does nothing better than Charles does. But...Charles has more speed, more elusiveness, better vision and catches the ball better. Give him the damn rock! Or we can just declare him a third down back for the rest of his career just because....

Charles is nowhere close to Priest. Not even close. The only thing Charles is far more superior than Priest was is their straight line speed. But that's it. Charles can't catch very well, drops the easy ones, and when he gets hit, he's done.

He's Greg Hill II. You haven't forgotten his fumbling problems, do you? Remember the opening KO against the Giants game?

And I didn't exactly say Kolby Smith was a Pro Bowler. Just that he makes things happen where LJ can not.

What's sad about this whole discussion is, quite frankly, it's showing more and more that the Chiefs don't have very good running backs.

LJ is done.

Charles is the next Greg Hill.

Kolby Smith is garbage.

No, Charles is the next Greg Hill. One hit, he's done. He'll go down. He also has a major issue of fumblitis.

LOL @ people who want Battle to share carries with Charles.

Battle is the slowest RB on the roster and has ZERO quickness.

Yeah, yeah, we get it.

You have Johnson so far up your ass that you actually believe he can drill his own holes.
