The stadium experience relies on the quality of the fans. And I'd rather that stadium be filled with diehards. Vegas? Hmm... Bunch of transients and bandwagon jumpers and tourists, not to mention bigger crowds for the away team. I remember the stale background noise in London. You could have farted in the stands and nobody would notice. I would love a team in Vegas and if there's any team I'd want to wish that Disneyland fan experience on, it's the Raiders.

I've been to college football games in stadiums where students get cheap ticket allocations. It's such a stale experience because many of these students are sitting down and talking the entire game.

This is complete bullshit.

I've been to several NFL stadiums across the country to watch the Chiefs and I couldn't care less about the fans of the other team.

The "experience" is whether or not the Chiefs win, not the other fans.

While that might be true for most teams, the Raiders fans have caused fans of other teams not to attend games in their stadium or if they do, they don't feel comfortable enough to wear their team's colors. No one wants to go to a sporting event to have things thrown at you, or worse, a physical altercation.

I am wondering if being in Vegas will change this though. Or at least, there will likely be plenty of visiting fans so things can't get too out of hand and others may actually have your back.

I'm talking about the stadium experience for people who love football. I would definitely go to a Vegas stadium and have a blast. But it's not real regular season football if much of the home crowd barely cares about the game. The game experience for me is a loud crowd, standing and cheering for the home team.

I would rather watch the Chiefs in Las Vegas than in Oakland, because I think there would be less chance of getting killed by their scumbag fans.

Agreed.

That said, the opposing crowd will be the biggest factor against the Raiders in Vegas, as it's a transient town and close enough to other cities like LA, Phoenix, SF and San Diego in which to drive.

The fact that it's in Vegas will make it much more appealing to fans of the other 31 teams to turn it into a party weekend.

In the end, even though the Raiders will be playing in a state-of-the-art, amazing stadium, it probably hurts them more than helps them.

Yup. Another reason it would be good for the Chiefs, especially if they get more KC fans for the away game against the Raiders.

Everybody wins (including the Raiders' owner with a full stadium) except the Raiders on the field (and they're used to that).

I agree, although historically in both LA and Oakland they have had trouble filling their stadium. They use tarps to cover entire sections of seats so they don't have to count them. If they fill the stadium in Vegas they may not care if it is fans filling it or tourists as long as it is full.
