This whole thing ****ing sucks. The team for whatever reason won't give us a god damn straight answer. It's literally day to day isn't an answer. Someone needs to ask wtf could change between today and tomorrow that would make him ready to play. I really hate the secrecy and vagueness of everything.
If Berry could have had 5-6 more years at the rate he was going he would have been a HoFer, but instead he's just a broke dick. I do actually find it funny that this whole thing blew up in Clark's face though. The dipshit should leave the running of the team to the guy that he hired to run to team. |

I don't understand how some people don't understand this. I don't care how great of an athlete someone is they're not going to just have the conditioning to play after being on the shelf for as long as he has. There is no way he's keeping up his conditioning. Hell look at Michael Porter Jr when he came and played for Mizzou. He was a tremendous athlete, but he wasn't able to properly condition himself and he easily getting gassed.

What if he already had surgery? It says its only 8 weeks to fully heal. Maybe they're trying to keep everything hush hush. We are killing right now so thats extra time to heal to make that tendon even stronger. Berry does have the right to keep this from the media (HIPPA).
Just a random thought. |

so you're gonna tell me that its not possible? Seems more plausible then waiting for the playoffs. More plausible then him waiting it out to see what happens and comes back and hurts it again. Then he would miss 3 seasons...if you're berry what would you do smart guy?

I want to believe that they are being cautious; there is a part of me that believes Berry will be like Charles and never play at the same level again. These guys aren't robots and at some point, their body can't cash the checks the mind is writing.
Another part of me believes that this is a feel good story to boost ticket and make the team look good. For the Hunts, the amount of money we are talking about is no big deal and the league salary cap pays, I believe, the entire team's payroll so they aren't really out anything. At the end of the day, this team has made some contracts that didn't work out. Charles, Bowe, Houston, Berry, etc. I think part of that is due to how ownership wants the fans to view the team. It's a feel good story and when people feel good, they don't really think about financial decisions the same way. It is after all, an entertainment business. |

There's a PR aspect to it, but the real issue here is the team is paying him to play. You can theorize all you want about saving him for the playoffs or we don't really need him right now, but the bottom line is the team is being hurt by him not living up to his contract. Nothing personal, but it's a business and the team isn't getting their money's worth.

Berry has Chunt bent over a barrel....there is literally nothing the Chiefs can do. He has collected a check for 25 games now and counting...and doesn't have to play. He just needs his personal doctors to say..."His non-Achilles ankle is still sore".
This is starting to smell like a contractual con job...if your other Achilles blows, so be it. You can retire and quit holding the Chiefs financially hostage. It's a ****ing bone spur causing discomfort...not some spinal injury. Shoot it up...get special shoes and play. Last edited by BlackOp; 11-04-2018 at 12:25 AM.. |

Tom Pelissero reported this morning that Eric Berry has made “serious strides” with his injured heel, and that KC is hopeful he’ll be back in the next few weeks.

Because they mismanaged the injury, as usual. They were holding on to a sliver of hope he’d be able to play this year when they should have had the surgery in the preseason and shut him down for 2018.
