Sure, but Brady also had his share of losses in that way in this newscycle, and even Manning’s career as a postseason choke artist has been largely forgotten in his own mythology. Even a QB like Kurt Warner is often remembered for his 51-45 duel over Rodgers despite that postseason ending with him getting destroyed by the New Orleans Bounties. Even deflategate and bountygate have largely been forgotten.

The one benefit of constant news is that it quickly buries everything in his path. Another title for Patrick and I largely expect the same to happen here.

It happens to the greatest.

That's the reality we just haven't experienced as Chiefs fans, until now.

And now we experienced that reality back to back: getting blistered in the big one, and getting gut punched at home in the AFCCG after being up big.

Tough lessons, learned fast. It will pay off in the next decade.

Mahomes has incredible accomplishments including going to 4 AFC Championships in just first 4 starting seasons.
Winning 2 AFC Championships and going to 2 Super Bowls. Winning 1 as Super Bowl MVP.

Winning regular NFL MVP.

He also has the experience of losing a Super Bowl. And losing 2 AFC Championships in OT.

All at the age of 26.

I do think we should have won at least 1 more. But he has incredible experiences now and we need to have 2 great off-seasons in a row to keep us here.

As crappy as he played at times in the 2nd half, if he hits the TD late in regulation or in OT Tyreek is able to make the catch despite the great DB efforts the story is totally different.

Just a play or 2 can rewrite a game's story.

This legacy talk of Mahomes is ridiculous. One more title and the parting shot from this postseason will be the Buffalo game and the motivation Mahomes needed to come back.

Sure, he could go the Rodgers and Wilson route. But I believe in Patrick.

We’ll be back.
This only really impacts Mahomes’s legacy if it ends up being one of several blown opportunities in the postseason.

If this is a blip, it will be all but forgotten in a few years.

If we blow several more postseason leads (and there’s no reason to believe we will), then it will stick with him as an example of him not being able to rise to the occasion.

Burrow has the perfect all American face to represent the nfl. Maybe even better than brady.

Wouldn’t surprise me.

Mahomes sold his soul to beat the Bills.

The debt he owed came due in the second half against the Bengals.

Basically, is this the exception or the rule?

So far, it’s the exception.

Brady threw 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions in year 1, 28 and 14 in year 2, 23 and 12 in year 3, and 28 and 14 in year 4. And that was with him taking far less risk and passing the ball far less than he did later in his career.

He simply wasn't that good a player in those days and honestly didn't have to be in order for those Pats teams to win. He's not comparable to years 1-4 Mahomes (though nobody in NFL history is btw).

he plays scared after anything bad happens

examples:

Freak Knee injury - he'll never QB sneak
Fumbled on a scramble - now he slides 10 yrds before any defender is near or runsd to the sidelines
Throws interception- doesnt throw the ball anymore

He plays scared at times and if that doesnt change that will be the difference from him being an amazing stat talent and having GOAT Brady-like status

my worry is he is Marino with 1 ring

am i wrong?

every time he throws a pick he starts not throwing to open recievers

since that one game early this year when he was scrambling and got stripped hes been running scared..he even said in the press conference i cant try to do too much I need to go down

and we all know about the QB sneak issue... thats why on 4th down we are snapping to TEs

Brady is 44 and does 2 QB sneaks a game and is fine
