Agreed, he looked very timid which is completely understandable, but kind of surprising based on how aggressive he had run previously. It's easy for us to sit here and call him out, but I can't imagine that's an easy thing to get over mentally.

I bet he'll have his intensity back next year, and we'll see him running into the back of his lineman full speed like we're used to.

I had forgotten about this guy. I guess he was injured all of last year?

Good top end speed, can run outside zone, decent vision and patience. I can see the fit. Hasn't ever been much of a receiving weapon, though, so maybe he gets a little more 1st and 2nd down work.

First RB we've had since Williams that's actually GOOD at outside zone...

Hasn't stopped us from doing a ton of it but also think there's a good chance he breaks in training camp and never takes a snap for us. So more help is needed, IMO.

Yeah this is very likely. Camp body that can be a role player if he sticks around. I'd try to draft one in the 3rd round and hopefully they can start him.

He's a RB with a long history of lower body injuries that appear to be of the cumulative variety.

He just may not have the burst at this point.

He's a cheap scratch-off; probably little to nothing in the way of guaranteed money.

The fact that he signed on day 1 doesn't mean a ton -- they want him here and want him to succeed. But if he's a brokedick he's a brokedick.

And I'd give the odds at no better than 50/50 that's exactly what he is.

Is there a deadline when you can sign certain players by or something? They also signed Robert Tonyan today. Does him being signed 1 day later change the fact that he's also a camp body type player that they're trying to maximize?

Not a bad move. He's got talent he just can't stay healthy like 50% of the Niners. He's not as fast as Mostert but kind of the same idea, a guy with talent who just needs to stay on the field. Miami got some good mileage out of Mostert.
