Vincent Jackson to the Seahawks.... Soon

I'd say this is good news for the Chiefs. We are at a great time in this division with the Chargers having inept management, the Donks having inept coaching and well we only have an inept set of linemen.

Seahawks | Allowed to talk to Vincent Jackson about contract

The Seattle Seahawks have been granted written permission to discuss contract terms with San Diego Chargers restricted free-agent WR Vincent Jackson, reports Jason Cole, of Yahoo! Sports. Two sources say the Chargers are committed to trading Jackson because they do not expect him to report at all this season. There has been no significant progress at this point.

Actually I did google it to see if it was a common theme. Nothing really.

He isn't good enough to create hate except amongst Chiefs fans.

you're right...better to skip the QB position and fix the important things like nickle CB....

in fact, we shouldn't even draft a QB until we have a top 10 defense in the year 2854

20+ years of failure and this fanbase still doesn't understand that QB is the most important position in a franchise....and nothing else comes close....

Brees sucked sooooo bad the year before they drafted Rivers. Then that asshole had to turn out to be good.
**** him!
Keeping LT instead of Turner on the other hand... I didn't get that move at all.

No ****ing way!

Thank God we havn't drafted a first round QB since that Todd Blackledge and we get proven / backupQBs to be our franchise hopes. I remember 1993 when we won a play off game/that wa s great!. True Chiefs fan.
Just to keep the conversation going:
Here is my drunken half assed opinion on 1st round QBs.
There's a way higher ratio of Ryan Leafs to Payton Mannings in the 1st round.
Any QB needs the following:
- a great GM
- an excellent offensive game plan
- an adequate surrounding cast
- an adequate D
Comparing Joe Montana and Steve Young proves this point.
Montana won his championships with all of the required criteria.
Young won his championship with all of the required criteria, (although they cheated the cap).
Young couldn't do shit in TB where he had none of the required criteria. Montana couldn't do it for the Chiefs without a couple of pieces of the above criteria
The following list of "losers" who had nothing to work with:
1990 Andre Ware
1991 Dan McGwire
1991 Todd Marinovich
1992 David Klingler
1993 Rick Mirer
1994 Heath Shuler
1997 Jim Drunkenmiller
1998 Ryan ****
1999 Akili Smith
1999 Tim Couch
1999 Cade McNown
2002 David Carr
2002 Joey Harrington
2004 J.P. Losman
2005 Alex Smith
etc, etc, etc…

I know I'm missing a lot more "1st round busts", but if you put these guys on that champion 49er team Montana was with, (with same the great GM, offensive system, etc...), would they still win the SB? My guess is the majority would, (with the exception of Ryan ****, of course).
Cassel looked like a stud QB subbing for Brady in an environment with all of the needed criteria but he's in KC now and the criteria's not quite there.
He may not survive to see all the pieces put in place.

I dont think that is the issue. The problem is you have to have a top 3 QB or you better have a well rounded team.

There aren't that many get on my back and let me carry you QB's so you better build a team.

P. Manning, Brady, and Brees, then who else can get away with having a mid level defense and still win a SB?
