It's idiotic the shit some people are saying. Cassel was horrible and this guy is worse but somehow people think he is better. I just dont get it. The niners win half of the games Smith started last year if smith never throws a single td. The guy won because his team won. He has like 6 wins vs teams over 500 in the last 2 years and one of those came against the Steelers 20-3 where rapingloser threw 3 ints.

you guys are insane. Alex smith is way better than cassel and alex is still barely good. Cassel is the last qb i'd take out of the 32 startesr last year.

Most of the arguments against smith such as the middle stats all hinge on the years more than 3 years ago before there was any competent coaching in SF, when a carousel of coordinators and systems was spinning.

Oxycontin is more to the east of Missouri now. Meth is the cool thing around here.

5 year starters;

smith = 46 wins, 58%

cassel = 29 wins, 36% (19 wins, 30% if you subtract the 10 as a patriot taking over a perfect 18-0 team)

A lot of those receivers were wide open, but one thing you take away from that video is that his accuracy is a huge step up from Cassel, especially beyond 10 yards. Smith's arm is at least respectable, though certainly his arm strength is not elite, you could call it average NFL arm strength, IMO. His mobility and pocket presence are certainly better and will be an asset.

My main concern with Alex Smith is his ability to stay healthy. He was sacked a ton of times in those lackluster seasons in SF, and I think we will be able to protect him better.

It is a start.

Fescoe thinks they should hang on to Cassel and trade him.

NO ONE WANTS HIM, YOU DUMBASS!

There were actually teams interested in Smith.
