The 4.59sec was somewhere in this thread, I think. Or Google.

My point was that they aren't of a similar stature or speed. Which automatically makes them useful for different purposes. For example, you wouldn't put Wes Welker/Edelman on the edge and have them run go-routes. Likewise, lining up DK Metcalf in the slot and having him run a whip route or a come-back isn't the best use of his abilities.

I really think that Richie James is a pretty good signing for the Chiefs. He is not the size of Justin Watson but James's speed is 4.48 in a 40 (Watson was 4.42) and James does a good job of tracking and going for the ball. I think Patrick Mahomes will enjoy having him as a WR. Richie James also had a catch % of 81.4% while Watson only had a catch % of 44.1%. Justin Watson might still be re-signed, but adding Richie James is another good move by Brett Veach.

Probably overthinking it but I wonder if Toney pointed out James to the Chiefs as a potential option.

You know I actually mentioned to Toney that James would be a good fit here. I'm sure that played a part in his signing.

Looks like he can run that's all I need to see when you have a QB who gets the shit beat out of him in a super bowl game and yet still makes a throw from the side of his body throwing it 30 down field and nails the WR in the face mask

That’s a lot of catches playing in a terrible passing offense. Plus he can return.

Veach’s free agent approach has evolved so much. One splash signing at a key position, then fill in the holes with specific role fits in the second wave.

We’re a better team than we were at the end of the season on D and equal to a slight drop off on offense. That’s before making a single draft pick, which I think will go heavy on offense. Nobody else has gotten drastically better.

We’ll be at the top once again.

Seems like a decent depth and PR signing.

Totally different roles on offense and could still use both on special teams.

He’s been seen around town down here. Assuming he’s from this area.

People have asked him, most say not much interest from teams unless it’s a vet minimum or close to that number and only a 1 year contract. I’m sure the Chiefs would pay that.

They're not carrying 8 WRs so if people think 2 are being drafted where are all the roster spots?

Yeah. Watson isn't coming back. They draft one for sure. Two if we don't end up with Hopkins or OBJ.
