Call Your Shot: Who's the Chiefs first pick?

RunKC pulled the trigger early, and many weren't ready to make that call, so that thread just turned into a mega thread. This is the OFFICIAL thread to call your shot, so let's hear it.

I'm going with Felix Anudike-Uzomah, EDGE, Kansas St.

He fits a need. He's 21 years old (Veach loves drafting 21 year old rookies). Local guy. Intelligent (Veach noted how important that is for them in yesterdays PC) and has been described by scouts as a "savvy" rusher. He checks most of the boxes for the Spags prototype except he's just under 260 at 255. Excellent 3 cone, and he can bend, which I think this defense is missing.

He probably wouldn't be my first choice, but definitely on my short list.

With the 31st pick of the 2023 NFL Draft, the World Champion Kansas City Chiefs select Quentin Johnston, wide receiver from TCU.

Trade up for a DE or RT. Thats the smart move. We have ton on the roster now they have been waiting to see do something. We need Moore to be a starter and Toney. Boths Rosses need a shot as well and we have Watson and MVS. We isn't a bigger need.

Chiefs trade up to pick 20 to jump the chargers.

Chiefs select Jordan Addison

And the crowd goes wild (except for the eric fisher guys)

Obviously WR would be the fun sexy pick. As an Iowa State fan obviously I’m interested in McDonald even though he’s probably more suited as a 3/4 OLB in the NFL. But we made Melvin Ingram work as a stand up pass rusher his brief stint here. Typically DL take three years to develop so maybe he just comes in on passing downs as he develops and bulks up… if they were to go that route. Broke Von Millers Big12 career sack record, but what’s impressive is McDonald played on a 3 man front and was always double/triple teamed. And like Tamba Hali here, always being held without getting a flag.

What’s amazing is that this chiefs team will be even that much better with a few starters and a couple superstars from this draft and a couple FA additions before training camp.
