You're high. For what this album wants to be -- commercially viable, playable on both hard rock and heavy metal radio formats, accessible while at the same time hearkening back to the thrash spirit of the band's early days -- it's a smashing success. Death Magnetic riffs, it grooves, it has melody, it has aggression.
It's not a perfect album, but it's about as good as we can expect from the band given their age and musical progression. |
