I think adding Roethlisberger, Berry, Thomas Jones, a few OL and a year of progression, familiarity and maturity and an upgrade in the coaching staff would spell all sorts of win for this offseason!

Pipe dream...

but if we offered all that (Cassel, 36, 2011 1st, 2011 3rd) for Roethlisberger it might be rather enticing to Pittsburgh.

I think Ben is guilty of being an absolute ****stick. A completely irresponsible, overgrown fratboy gorilla.

I don't actually think he raped the girl. A) He is an NFL QB. All he'd need to do is find another groupy. Did he try to nail a drunk girl? Yup, but that's hardly a select club. B) A rape kit would've shown some pretty serious evidence of it if he actually assaulted the girl.

So the question for me isn't "Can I have a rapist at QB?" it's, "Can I have a complete douchenozzle and misogynist at QB?"

Uh...yeah, I can live with that.

I have a very close friend in Vegas who not only is involved in the club scene but whose wife worked at Harrah's for a decade that's told me the guy is VERY dirty.

Only you would give up Cassel, and 2011 first and third round picks for a guy that will miss six games or more next year.

Those 2011 picks would most likely be top ten.

Yeah...

You're right...

I'd give up those picks in a SECOND...for a 28 year old franchise Super Bowl winning NFL QB...and you know what?

I'd give up a hell of a lot more as well...this is the ultimate buy low situation and if they really jumped on Cassel, 36, 2011 1st and 2011 3rd for Roethlisberger and it allowed us to still draft Berry and keep our other picks this year...

Hell yeah I'd mortgage a potential top 10 pick in 2011 for a guy who would be UNTOUCHABLE FOR 10 TOP 10 PICKS if he didn't have such ridiculous character concern...

and in all honesty...if I could do a futures bet on whether Roethlisberger ever gets in any significant trouble EVER again during his NFL career...I'd put my $$$ on NO.

lets take the exact same scenario minus the fancy security guards and replace Mr. Roethlisberger with me...a 24 year old drunk asshole who finds demeaning young girls to be kind of a sport.

If I hooked up with that drunk ass girl in the bathroom, I guarantee it wouldn't have been against her will...and she and her friends would have known that. (Because I'm a normal person and have no desire to rape someone and then live in fear that I'll end up going to prison for it and in turn end up being raped by big, strong, African American men...)

However, I'm 24 and have zero commas in my bank account...so her friends would have been like..."god damnit Lacey you're an idiot stop being such a slut!" and they would have gone club ratting at the next spot, and then the next spot, and then the next spot...like they do every weekend.

I don't care what picture anyone is trying to paint for me...whether it be a police report...or whether they had hardcore, consensual, porno style, hair grabbing anal sex and he shot his massive load all over the bathroom and then was worried this very sexual assault scenario may present itself because the girl was 20, a club rat, and intoxicated...
