Underrated Childhood Sports Heroes...
Ever have a childhood sports hero that never seemed to get the respect you thought they deserved? Those unique players that you greatly admired, but other people didn't seem to understand or appreciate?
One of mine has to be Ricky Watters... I wasn't ever a Notre Dame, SanFran, Philly, or Seattle fan in the slightest... but I had an amazing amount of respect for Watters' talents. I loved his style of running, and tried (mostly unsuccessfully) to mimic his running style in HS football. I thought he was really talented, but I haven't heard his name in a decade or so..... Who was your unsung hero back in the day? |
