Hypothetical Part 1: Equivalent value for Patrick Mahomes II.

Okay, we're not trading our franchise quarterback. Let's make that clear.

But if other teams were making us good-faith trade offers, what would be a fair offer? I've done the following to make some estimated trade packages, using the following algorithms.

I went to the NFL Network Top 100 players of last year. Recognizing that it includes some old declining players and at least one player who can't walk very well, and recognizing that Patrick Mahomes II is a young franchise quarterback, I'm assuming that Patrick Mahomes II is worth more than any player on the list, and generally worth much more.

If a team had three players on the list, I packaged those three players into an offer.

If a team had two players on the list, I added their 1st round pick from 2018.

If a team had one or zero players on the list, I packaged future 1st round picks so that the Chiefs would get three players in total.

If a team had more than three players on the list, I put together packages that added players in different scenarios until all of their players were included in a package.

By doing this, I came up with 60 total trade offers. I'll put them up in groups of 10, and your job is to assess whether or not it would be an equal or greater value than our own Patrick Mahomes II.

Important rule: Don't consider this poll as indicating that you would ACCEPT such a trade offer. Because trading Patrick Mahomes II would be insane. Just tell us whether you think those players would add equivalent value to the franchise.

Here are your first ten scenarios.

Rams one is the only one that I’d even consider because of Donald. Think Goff would be fine with Andy.

Rams is obviously a yes. Young top 10 QB in Goff, top 3 RB in Gurley, top 3 defensive player in Aaron Donald.

Others are meh, i wouldn't trade Mahomes for 3 defensive players in general. I guess the #2 and #3 are Eagles and Falcons.

I wouldn't do it for Brady or Brees or the like because 15 years of Mahomes is more valuable than a few years of them.

Yeah, I'm on the fence on that one. I'd hate the big downgrade at QB, but the other two players are pretty good.

There are better players in the NFL than Mahomes.

But none of them are worth enough to make that trade

Mahomes is untradeable

Mahomes will probably be top 5 on the top 100 list in his first season. Pretty damn incredible.

He’s good but he’s not Mahomes.

Mahomes isn’t just a “good/great quarterback.”

He’s Mahomes. Just Priceless

The only one that wouldn't make me renounce my fandom would be the Rams.

I COULD consider the Rams deal but not really because you only gain Donald and you give up a little on the back end in my opinion with Goff.

We have Hunt so Gurley isnt a must have.

Jones isnt Donald but he isnt a huge downgrade and my be Donald before its over.

Yeah, that thought occurred to me as I was scouring the list. I could see Brees being higher this year, and maybe (sigh) Aaron Donald and (sly smile) Tyreek Hill. But I'm not sure who else would rank above him. I think Brady is clearly declining, and the rest of the top ten last year were Antonio Brown (whatever), Deandre Hopkins (maybe a contender), Julio Jones (same as Hopkins), Le'v'e'on Bell (quitter), Todd Gurley (not seeing it), Murderin' Von (quitter), and Aaron Rodgers (good, but not Mahomes good).

I would predict that Patrick will be in the #3 spot, and Tyreek will be around #6 and should be higher.

I wouldn't even take the Rams deal. Why would we take that cap hit? 150M+ left on Donald and Gurley contracts alone.
