So why is Thibodeaux falling out of the top 10 in some mocks?

Did he piss in everybody's corn flakes?

Look, I'm down with trading up to go get our favorite pass rusher, but if we're in a position to grab Thibodeaux because other teams decided they didn't like him as much as draft gurus predicted they would, then what's wrong with him? And does that mean we should be wary of going up to get him if he does happen to fall?

All I've seen is he's relatively self-centered in terms of his own brand and looking out for himself first.

Otherwise, productive on the field and highly intelligent (which leads to some abrasive comments apparently).

I don't know otherwise.

I've also heard reports that he produced in college purely off of athletic ability and not a ton of technical skill.

Not saying it's correct....just that I saw it.

Because he was an early media hype guy, and as scouts and teams really dived into him and evaluated, and as the leaks and whispers came about, the media cooled off on him.

It's probably as simple as he's not as good as the media led you to believe earlier in the process.

So do you all think he's even worth trading up for? If somebody points a gun to Veach's head and tells him to trade up for a pass rusher, would you rather trade up for Johnson or somebody else?

Pass rushers generally don't fall unless there's a reason.

This is exactly the kind of thing the Chiefs need to happen!

In fact, I wouldnt be surprised if it was Veach starting all of this!

Watch his film, there is no way you can watch that and think, Eh he's ok?

Granted I dont watch a ton of college football but that was a guy that took over games. He was in on nearly every play. It was really something to see.

The only real knock Ive heard and it was way before lying season is that he took plays off and wasnt always consistent effort wise.

If you watch him play, the plays he took off were still pretty good and hell he was going 90 MPH most of the time, he may just need to rest a bit.

I doubt we have a shot at him but man if we do, that guy on the same line as CJ would be unstoppable!

Don't watch the two Utah games from this past season. Thibs got his ass kicked up and down the field and was a complete non-factor.

Suggesting he got his "ass kicked" when he was doubled by guards and TEs for the entirety is a gross overstatement. They made it a point to take him out of the game because they knew nobody else could get pressure. It worked out great for Utah, even though he still got tackles and even a sack in the 2nd matchup.

If you have a guy that command double-teams to deal with him, you'd sure hope that, at the NFL level, someone else will step up and take advantage of that. With a line that includes Chris Jones, I'd like my chances.

I'm hopeful Veach goes up for this kid but I can't get hopes too high, the chances are slim he drops far enough for it to matter.

Yeah, the media has no bearing on where I value this guy. He's my top pass rusher, period. As a guy whose physical build and game translate to the next level? Thibs is #1 for me, no doubt. He's got speed, he's got power, he's got bend, he's quick off the snap. He's basically a physical copy of TJ Watt. Yeah, give me that all day. Sure, Hutch is pretty complete, is a darling with the media, and is "safe." Walker has insane upside but he's not there yet. I don't care, Give me Thibs over both.

Now, if he slides, I honestly don't care why. TJ Watt slid too.

I seem to be in the minority that would give up a second to move up for Jameson.

But with Thibs I would not blink twice packaging the 2 firsts to get him. He’s the level of prospect that warrants that type of risk

Where do you rank Jermaine Johnson amongst DEs?

I've had him 4th because he's more complete against the run than Karlaftis.

This. I'd add onto this that the ****ing guy played hurt all year too. He could've easily taken the rest of the season off and just prepared for the draft the way many dudes have....

He didn't. He went out there every game on a gimpy ankle and still produced. He wanted to be with his teammates. Had he been selfish he might be the #1 guy right now.

Really hope this is Veach's guy in 48 hours.
