I think Gunther_Fan was douche of the decade of the 2000s, but this jagoff has to be the prohibitive favorite for the 10s

So let me get this straight. You hate them when they are good and you hate them when they are bad. You must really hate football. Why are you here? Are you lonely?

I'm pretty sure he didn't say he hated the team. I get the impression he loves that team, but is frustrated by having a QB that is limited. He is actually just out in front of things as he likely recalls the frustrations of the Marty years until Montana came on board.

I must admit, I've always thought the "Arrowhead Chop" was a bit Nuremberg-like.... it makes me a bit uncomfortable....

For me winning has always been worth the losing that has gone with it. However, 5 years of losing so much definitely made me fairly apathetic. I can see how some have become skeptical, but I just don't see how some have to frame everything so ultra negatively when we are 3-0. This team isn't great, but this defensive unit is. If the offense gels a bit particularly on the offensive line we have a chance to be very good football team.

I just don't understand how some people on here can be so negative about everything when this is like the best start we've had as an organization in a long time. There is reason for hope, which is a goddamn huge improvement from the past. Alex Smith might not be the long term answer, but I think he is a great short term one, and that's exactly what we needed right now.

I for one am happy as hell, that we are 3-0, it's been a long time.
I also realize that it's mostly from our outstanding defense and not so much from our offense. Offense still needs a lot of work.

When we do lose(and we will)..It's going to hit hard and it's going to be real ugly.

Everything meaning they have a pessimistic attitude about the team based on one aspect of it. You are ****ing kidding yourself if you haven't noticed the debbie downers march through and attempt to explain how we won despite this and that.

If you mean certain fans aren't content with just making the playoffs and having a good time tail gaiting then yeah I'm guilty on that one.

I had to come to terms with this myself. I remember gut wrenching loss games, both when we were good and when we've been bad. Leaving the stadium just totally bummed out, and seeing other people wearing CHIEFS GEAR laughing and being basically unaffected by the game's outcome. That made me mad, because I thought they should feel as bad as I felt... and be pissed, and angry, and more pissed and MORE angry.

Over the last two or three seasons I came to realize that for many people, football is basically a distraction. Lots of "fans" go to Arrowhead for the party. They like to drink and tailgate and wear Mardi Gras beads and if we lose, we lose. They're not emotionally invested, so it doesn't crush their soul when we lose.

Even the way the Hunt Family has operated -running this thing like an entertainment enterprise- has made me less willing to get emotionally invested. So now, I don't lose my mind when they lose. It's supposed to be fun, damn it.

I figure if we ever get good enough to actually be a legit Super Bowl team, then the entertainment value will be enough not to lose sleep over the losses any more. I do hope they win at least one more before I exit Earth.

The Marty Ball years that people pine for now was the same: great defense, weak offense, good special teams and great positive turnover ratio. The only nagging problem is, people don't want to re-live pain of playoff Marty. See back then, Denver had this guy named Elway.....now, they have this guy named Manning, and a lot of long term Chiefs fans are saying "I've seen this movie...it does not end well." OK, I can dig that. But would you rather be 2-14? I'll take my chances. Andy Reid is not Marty, and in a lot of ways, Manning is not Elway. So we'll see how it plays out.

I agree. However, the Marty years weren't that bad imo. I like winning and I think people take those years for granted. I guess I am just realistic about Superbowls. I hope we get one in my lifetime but, I don't really expect it. It's really hard to get there. Almost half the teams in the league have never won one.

Yeah, go **** yourself kid. We hear the phrase, "back in the 90's, Arrowhead was...." all the time around here. You have no idea how it was back then being consistently relevant.

"I'm 11 years old and the Chiefs have never won a Superbowl in my lifetime!!!! Meehhhhh!"
