810 Just said someone got murderd outside Arrowhead
Police: Man who died at Arrowhead was in a vehicle similar to one he arrived in
December 3 BY CHRISTINE VENDEL The Kansas City Star A Smithville man who was found in someone else’s Jeep and then died in a struggle outside Arrowhead Stadium Sunday had gone to the game in a similar vehicle that was parked nearby, police said Tuesday. The Jeep also showed no signs of a break-in, leading police to believe it may have been left unlocked when Kyle Van Winkle, 30, climbed in and sat down. Police released the additional details Tuesday as they continued to investigate what led to the death of Van Winkle, who had attended the Chiefs game against the Denver Broncos with relatives. Detectives planned to interview relatives Tuesday to determine when they last saw him inside the stadium. Police were called to Lot A of the Truman Sports Complex about 5:20 p.m. Sunday on a disturbance. Witnesses told police the Jeep owner had returned to his vehicle with his son, who is about 10 years old, when they realized a stranger was inside. The boy summoned help from several tail-gaters and they engaged in a struggle with Van Winkle, who had been sitting in the Jeep. Van Winkle collapsed and later died at a hospital. Police did not say how Van Winkle died, but they said his body bore no signs of obvious injury. Officers arrested three men shortly after the death, but they had to track down the fourth man who was arrested. Police searched one man’s home in Independence on Monday. Detectives released three of the men Monday night and the fourth man Tuesday morning, pending further investigation. I have. Got in and actually drove a few blocks before realizing it, if you can believe that. This was back in my home town when nobody locked their doors and most left their keys in their vehicles. I hopped in what I thought was my grandma's car and drove several blocks before realizing the interior didn't look right. Drove it right back to the store and parked it where it was, and found my grandmother's identical car parked 2 spaces down.
Small town life....

I remember when I was kid, probably around 7 or 8, waiting for my mom outside a carpet store laying in the backseat of my parents green station wagon. I hear the drivers side door open and shut so I sit up and lo and behold it was a strange woman. This lady yells bloody murder asking who I was and what I was doing while I yelled the same thing at her simultaneously! She realized she was in the wrong car, laughed, apologized and left.

I'd be interested in the ME's report.
I don't find it totally unreasonable to drop a beating on some drunk **** for getting in my vehicle. It would take a freak accident for them to end up dead though.

The guy was shit faced. If he was so shit faced he went to the bathroom, ended up in the parking lot and in the wrong car somehow I think that his shitfacedness was apparent to the people who murdered him. I hope they're charged and do time.

The late afternoon game crowds always have higher a percentage of shitfacedness going on.

had a buddy in college who drove a Ford Probe home from Aggieville to the dorms. Went out the next morning, can find his car. Reports it stolen. Cops come, and lo and behold, in the lot there is another Ford Probe, also reported stolen. He'd driven home the wrong car, didn't notice the color was off because of the lighting. Apparently it was a rare issue with Probes that keys would sometimes fit the wrong car. Alcohol was likely involved.

I've come outside from a party before and saw a car exactly like mine running with someone in it. I was frothing at the mouth, pounding on the windows like a demon. There was some middle aged lady looking at me from the other side of the window, screaming in terror. Somebody pointed out where my car was and that this was just some lady waiting to pick her daughter up. It was a beige Honda Prelude.

I don't expect they'll open the lots at 10 for the next 3:30 game. There was a hell of a lot of drunk wandering around the stadium on Sunday, far worse than normal.
