You know what depressed me? Fans complaining about Sutton's 4th quarter playcalling. They don't gameplan for the preseason opener at all, we all know this, yet somehow people are getting worked up because they're not being more creative and/or aggressive in the last 5 minutes of an exhibition game featuring 22 guys who probably won't make an NFL roster. Sometimes I weep for humanity.

Other than that, the first team on both sides of the ball was pretty much brutal. But I kind of expected that. Youth plus a lot of camp injuries (even if they're just the nagging variety), particularly among the skill guys, but on the lines as well. May see some improvement over the next couple of weeks. Or may not.

Sutton sucked because the first team defense looked like ass.

And "no scheme" or "DeVito and Berry were out" aren't excuses.

Parker wasn't as bad as some make out imo. A couple of times the safety help was lacking. Hudson was really disappointing to me. I would add Fulton but he's a rookie. They were double teaming Atkins and getting owned. It was embarrassing.

I am a Hudson fan, and it's hard to guage first team vs. second team, but it may be time to give Kush a look with the first team.

He isn't quite as athletic, but seems to be more stout.

And Parker was every bit as bad as he is made out to be by some.

I like Hudson to. Let's be honest though. Geno Atkins is a man among boys and maybe it's not that big of a deal? I like Kush and think he is the long term plan at center. Reid likes the big mauler types.

Pretty sure that Atkins was out for the game. That was not Atkins that they were getting destroyed by.

I really wish we would have kept Asamoah, especially at a pube over 4 million that Atlanta paid him.

Anyone who is judging the defense right now is a dumbass. 4 starters didn't start (though Sean Smith played).

They attacked Sorenson and Parker early. None of those guys will be counted on like that this season.

Catapano and DeVito coming back should also help this team a lot on the DL.

Anyone not noticing the same problems with the defense in our 1st preseason game are the same as the 2nd half of last year is a dumbass.

Anyone not noticing that our projected weakness on defense in the offseason seem to still be our weaknesses now is a dumbass.

It's only 1 preseason game but it's disappointing/disturbing.

Parker is not fit to play on a starting WR and Sorenson was playing his first ever game in the pros.

I think that said more than us not fixing the problem. Let's wait and see.

I read Parker played some free safety at practice in the nickel. He played FS some in college. He might be better suited there? I'm not ready to give up on him at CB though.

Yep. It will be NEXT season's priority when it should have been a priority for THIS season. But...but...but ...Sanders Commings...
