We'll probably end up with about $5M to play with if we want to keep our payroll the same as 2014. IMO, Glass should approve Dayton a spending limit of $110M for 2015. Dayton should use it responsibly, and not simply use it to use it, though. |

Davis on the books for 4.8 this year. So 2.2M raise to be exact.

Duffy is another guy who will get a healthy raise via arbitration.

Hoz and moose are getting 4M in raises after terrible seasons? Ill have to see that. It's possible but I doubt it.

And yes, Hos and Moose will get raises after potentially leading a team to a World Series. Hos is a Super 2 already making $3.6M. He'll get bumped up to 5 or 6. Moose will get a healthy raise. He's a starting 3rd baseman and he made a huge name for himself in the postseason. He's gonna ask for X, we're gonna counter with X, and odds are his agent and Dayton will find a common ground and avoid arbitration all together. But he's going to make probably around $2.5M, I'd have to think. |

You all also got an additional six+ sellout dates at home with massive concession sales. That adds a healthy amount to the bottom line.

you gotta think Glass finally gets what winning baseball means to Kansas City
I'm not saying he's going to say, "go wild, Dayton!" but $110M cap is reasonable two things... his ROI for the Royals is incredible 2019 isn't that far away and we're gonna sell a ton of tickets next year... I bet we eclipse $100M, for sure |

I know I'm probably alone in this, but even at that payroll level... I don't care if they get to 110 just for the sake of getting to 110. I think the overall payroll number is way overrated, at least when you're comparing it to a 90 million payroll. The important thing is to spend the money wisely and give yourself a chance to sign guys you've developed. I don't want to cheap out later because we wanted to sign Jose Guillen now just to say "Oh look! Glass is spending money!"
Just like it was this year... the most important thing is developing our own starting pitching. I'm sure Dayton will probably look for another pitcher to replace Shields, and hopefully guys will be interested in signing here without having to offer 10-15% more money than everyone else. Especially with this defense. |

That RF corner is a bitch to field in. If you watched the NLCS you saw the tricks it plays on an OF. Even Pence who has been there for two years blew it.
You will save more runs than Aoki will ever score offensively. Go for the defense. Dyson in CF and put your best OF in RF, Cain.

I was very surprised to learn that the Cardinals salary cap is 107 Million that's cheap for getting to the World Series as many times as they have done.
