Have you ever actually been to Ann Arbor? Ann Arbor is a REALLY nice city.

I agree that the weather sucks in the winter (which lasts 6 months).

I went to U-M so I am biased but Ann Arbor is nice although small. And remember, he is from TOLEDO so anyplace is a massive upgrade.

You're being ridiculous. I spent a couple of weeks in Long Beach last year. California must be a complete shithole.

It is one of the dirtiest states in the nation. Detroit is so bad that the city cut services to a big area.

My reading of the piece is that it is still a long shot that he winds up at Michigan.

I'm not reading it that way. I'm reading it as... Jim harbaugh is still coaching the 49ers. As long as he is coaching them, it's bad form to say he's looking for other jobs while the season is going on. I think he's playing the game of letting people know he's in the market even though he can't actually say he's on the market.

I still think his wife wanting to stay in nocal is a factor. We'll see.

Although frankly I wouldn't take the Raiders job under any circumstances.

Why is no one talking about Miami? If anybody is going to go nuts and offer him crazy money it will be Ross (U-M grad). If he stays in the NFl and leaves SanFran then my bet is on the Fins.

Is this actually true? I hear this story a lot but how true is it actually?

She's from Missouri. If I'm not mistaken, she would have gladly let Harbaugh accept a job with the Chiefs several years ago.

It's coming from enough disconnected places that it rings as credible to me.

But she may also like 8 million a year more than nocal. Who knows...

I'm a bitter midwesterner. Let me just get that out of the way. But the media hates the Big 10. They despise the midwest. Andy Reid was a favorite to go to the Cardinals... until he didn't. The media got completely blindsighted by LeBron going to Cali. Suh is supposedly in love with New York, and Peyton Manning was in love with SF.

I mean, doesn't it seem like the same people who insist that Harbaugh would never ever ever leave California seem convinced that the only other place he'd consider is Miami? The media can't seem to imagine why anybody would choose the midwest.

By the way... I do agree. I think his wife has sway and would want to stay in Cali. I also think Michigan is different because it's close to Harbaugh's family. For as much as people say his wife didn't want to leave Cali, there seem to be credible stories that she also would have considered going to Kansas City because that's close to her family.

Report: Harbaugh makes verbal agreement to come to Michigan

SAGINAW COUNTY, MI (WNEM) - Jim Harbaugh may be getting ready to become Michigan's head football coach.

Chatsports.com reports that two independent sources confirm he is set to announce he's taking the position Dec. 30. That is unless he backs out on the verbal agreement he reportedly has made with Michigan Athletic Director Jim Hackett.

The sports site reports Harbaugh's agent has been in contact with U of M since early November, telling Michigan Jim wants to return the football powerhouse back to its winning ways. There are also reports that more than 50 former Harbaugh teammates from Michigan have asked him to take the position.

Harbaugh, who is currently the coach of the 49ers, reportedly wouldn't make a move until after the season was over.

Earlier this week word of a possible deal between U of M and Harbaugh was widely circulated. Including the possibility of him earning $10 million a year with bonuses and incentives.

U of M's former head coach Brady Hoke was fired from his position earlier this month after four seasons.
Chatsports.com has broken several national sports stories in the past.
