That's a good team. Surprised people are quick to denigrate the opponent of our greatest win in 30 years. Just so odd.
So you're going to give the Mets back their free agents (Murphy and Cespedes), but not ours (Zobrist)? Sure, makes sense. As someone said below, if you go position by position of the teams that just played, RF is the only spot I'd rather have the Mets option. That said, I'm not going to tear that team down....they were hot coming in and we cooled them off.

I don't think they re-sign Cespedes and I don't thjnk we re-sign Zobrist. But the discussion was about who was better. Their OF was better than ours this year regardless of Cespedes struggling in a short series. Moose was 5-38 his first 43 AB of postseason, Hosmer 1-15, etc etc.

The Mets wRC+ as a team was identical to ours at 101. If we were really better at every spot but 1, that math wouldn't work. ESP with Morales being at like 130. Take the other 8 spots man to man and the math had to favor them.

We had an all world pen and superior depth.

Holy shit you're an idiot.
Surprised you're so quick to denigrate the team that just beat that opponent.

...and you're the guy who says the teams and players in the NL are shit...but all their guys are better than ours...

I've been seriously watching the Royals (and baseball for that matter) for only about 5 years. And I know more about this sport than you do.

Go root for the Mets. They're a bunch of ****ing reeruns on that forum. You'd fit right in over there. They'd love to have you.

I stayed up til 8 AM listening to NY sports talk radio. The butthurt was so entertaining, I just couldn't stop listening.

I'd say a solid 90% of the Mets fans couldn't even admit the Royals were a good team. They couldn't admit they got exposed. Most of them thought KC was just a bunch of lucky scrubs and had no business being in the World Series.

Before the Royals crushed their souls, they all wanted to re-sign Murphy and Cespedes. Now most of them don't want either one coming back.

Its gonna be fun to hear them cry for the next few months!

Poor NY fans. They live in an area where they hear nothing but how great they are. They knew nothing about the greatness that is the Kansas city Royals.

Nah, nah...they "gifted" us the World Series. They are the "better team"...just ask their fans.

I mean, it was a fluke we gave them the lead in every game and still beat them 4 games to 1. 2 of those 4 in their house, even.

They think they deserved to win because they had the lead in 4 of the 5 games...when we had the lead in all 5 of them.

They kinda forget that....you know because it was just bad luck that their 2nd baseman ****ed up routine plays multiple times or their 1st baseman couldn't throw it 90ft without overthrowing his target by 10 feet or Cespedes couldn't catch a ball or Harvey & DeGrom both got hit around or the unhittable Familia set a World Series record blowing 3 saves...

all just gifted to us by the better team because they care

You'd think they'd tally up all of these mistakes from their own team and realize that we weren't just getting lucky, their team was literally just worse than us. If your team gives up an inside the park homerun via a miscommunication, MULTIPLE errors by the infield, can't get the bats going for shit, and blow 3 saves in the same World Series, that isn't just you guys being unlucky, that's just you being BAD.

I'm definitely going to enjoy some of the Mets fans' tears. Despite the reaction, though, the Mets fanbase is still downright classy compared to the Orioles fans. I legitimately could not believe the some of the stuff I read after we swept them last season. The Orioles fans really thought their team was some juggernaut who shouldn't have even been sharing a field with the Royals, when in reality their team had never done shit either. What a bunch of losers.

Toronto fans have a lot of trash in that mangy lot I doubt it they make it to the post season next year. It was an all in year for them and we put a halt to that little baseball juggernaut.

And I won't sit here and pretend there wasn't some lucky breaks for us. Particularly game 4 against Houston.

But show me a team, any team from any sport that wins a Championship without a few lucky breaks here and there
