After reading the article, it sounds like he'll be good to go by camp next year. Getting his knees scoped and cleaned out will really help him. Tamba had this same procedure and he hasn't had much trouble with his knees this year.

The added benefit for Jamaal is that he had his procedure done in November whereas Tamba did his in February. This procedure usually needs some time to adjust and the extra 3 months will help Jamaal immensely.

He'll restructure and split carries with Ware and it will be amazing having the guy back. Even if he's tailing off, he's still a damn good back. I doubt his straight line speed has fallen off much.

I really hope he will lower his contract and come back. He's not done and will be bad ass once again in my opinion. If he walks we will regret it.

Good person, great running back, nearing the end of his career and now way overpaid and too big a risk for most teams.

He probably knows he must take a paycut to stay with the Chiefs and as much as I would hate to see him in anyone else's uniform, I don't want to waste a lot of money on him at this point in time.

I like his heart, but we shouldn't count on him. We need to add another weapon back there, since it's unlikely he will be staying healthy and/or anywhere near what he was.

It does sound a bit desperate. I get it, but it still sounds desperate. Perhaps he could cut a deal that'll allow them to buy some insurance.

I really hope Jamaal is offered a reduced deal and he takes it.

I'm gonna be sad if His career in KC ends by being hurt all 3 career playoff games.

Just once, I'd love to see him run wild in a playoff game.

He deserves it.

He played the entire game against Baltimore, unless I'm mistaken.

Averaged like 10 YPC, IIRC.

The details of the game are foggy for me now, but he didn't see much or any action in the second half. I can't remember if Haley just ignored him completely or the Ravens started to blow us out so we stopped running the ball.

I think we have beaten this to death and all agree- he comes back on a much reduced contract or else we have to cut him.

Does anyone disagree?

Just some numbers Peter King threw around about Jamaal Charles...

Quote:
I

Part of being really good in the NFL, or anywhere for that matter, is being available. Which is why this Jamaal Charles factoid is going to be important for the Kansas City Chiefs this offseason.

In the past 41 Chiefs games, Charles has rushed for at least 100 yards once.

3. I think these are the three things you need to know about Jamaal Charles, who has had an amazing career for the Chiefs (5.5 yards per rush, 7,260 career rushing yards) and his future in Kansas City:

• Games played in the past two years: 8. Games missed due to injury: 27.

• Age on opening day 2017: 30 years, eight months.

• The Chiefs signed C.J. Spiller for backfield insurance, and they’ll surely take a back in a tailback-rich draft in April.
