That's a hell of a lot of fuss to make for a LB coach... Better give him that assistant title like Richard has so no one can poach him before he becomes DC.

Have you looked at his resume? What and who he worked with? Every stop players got way way better. Former players love him. He will be a fantastic DC in the NFL and a head coach.

Everyone, at least on here, agree that if we can just get the defense up to the middle of the pack, we are going to win the Super Bowl. Getting the defensive coaching talent we already have in place now, adding better players through the draft and FA this off season should get us there.

Mentioned this in the Spags thread that coaching is so crucial. Man oh man am I jacked! This is a great hire and I’m loving the defensive staff overall.

The Chiefs don’t need to splurge on big names for talent anymore. You can let Houston walk and sign guys who fit this defense and are coachable.

Just like the Patriots have done with Belichick.

I'm guessing they'll end up keeping him and re structuring the deal a little.

If they think they're close, they may want to keep everyone on board they can.

This, this, this, and MOAR THIS. I mean goddamnit; BB has been writing the book on this shit for DECADES and hardly no one wanted to read it. Well, the guys who are running this team( ownership/HC )finally ****ing DID, and now we're gonna' launch like an ether-based cocaine rocket to the next and final frontier!

This is the greatest news we've had since acquiring Mahomes even if some fans don't understand why just yet. I mean, I had to compose myself for a minute and keep from reaching for the Kleenex because I KNOW what this means!

Just unbelievable. If you aren't JACKED about this team and franchise right now, you aren't pumping blood.

Another bonus: having Daly and House simultaneously sets a NICE competitive environment and scenario for the DC job one Spags decides to step down.

GREAT job, Chiefs. Nothing but respect to you.

Dude, the Chiefs set their sights on an asset and when presented with adversity, did not flinch or back away.

I know you're being obtuse so I'm going to say this more for the benefit of everyone else present:

There is no way in hell Clark Hunt would have approved the continuation of this move prior to getting his ass whipped in an embarrassing fashion, at home, by the New England Patriots.

Old Clark would have said, "eh, move on". You KNOW this is true. EVERYONE knows this is true. He just wasn't that aggressive and you know it. And you can't compare this to picking up Reid or Peeholi because those are HIGH LEVEL hires where he was directly involved in the entire process. This was a Linebackers coach position. But his guys( Reid/Spags )selected Matt House as their #1 choice for the job, and by extension he became Clark's #1 guy for the job. And Clark wasn't going to be denied his #1 guy by money, some jank-ass college, or anything else.

You can sit there and say "it was just a buyout" and technically you would be correct. But this isn't about technicalities exclusively. It's also about absolutely REFUSING to be denied what you are seeking in the quest to win a championship and beyond. Even a simple positional coach.

And it's about to spill over into player personnel, which I know you're just itching to argue about but don't worry; it's coming.
