As a matter of fact, when I stayed over on Grove Street - I got caught selling some weed to some Vagos cats. I plead down, and did 6 months community service. I picked up enough Cluckin Bell trash that it practically made me an environmentalist.

Not sure what kind of ****ing airport sized stores you find yourself visiting but I havent seen a store that does not have a cart rack within a 30 second round trip from any given parking spot. But that wont stop people from finding the nearest light pole, empty parking spot, or handicap loading zone to stash their cart.

Does throwing trash in your grade school principals yard when your driving by her house count?

As a general rule, I don't litter. Oh, I'll pitch bio-degradable stuff out the window on occasion, but not anything plastic/synthetic/whatever.
One time I tossed an apple core out the window and some eco-nut pulled up next to me at the next light and began screaming at me about littering. "It was an apple core," I told him, but he didn't care. You'd have thought I threw a chunk of weapons-grade plutonium out the window. As a fisherman for the better part of 46 years, I've seen plenty of trash along the banks of nearly every river/stream/lake/sea I've ever fished. Same applies to the 35+ years I've been hunting. I remember nearly filling half of my johnboat with other people's trash nearly every trip from the mid-'80s to the late '90s. Even today if I fish a popular lake/river, I usually carry a tall kitchen trash bag with me and will generally fill the thing with trash on every trip. Usually within just a couple hours. Which is why I now spend 90% of my time on the water in places where people just don't want to go. Some of my friends think I'm crazy to drive 30+ miles from the nearest paved road and then hike another 5-10 miles into the hills/woods/mountains just to fish a blue line stream, but I almost never have to fill a trash bag when I do. The only problem is that every year it seems like I have to hike farther and farther from the truck before I stop seeing trash. |

Or truckers piss bottles and those little 4 oz bottles of go juice baby diapers etc. It all eventually works its way into the drainage system and on to a creek then river.

Yeah, I like to throw oil into streams. Keep a bunch of stuff in a bag in my car and then when I see a nice green vacant part of a highway just throw it out. Oh - I love to drink a can of soda or red bull and then throw it away in the trash - directly next to a recycling bin.

Awww shit, I may need to change my vote. Just realized by some people's definition I am a litterbug because I do occasionally throw an apple core or a banana peel out going down the highway. I make sure it hits grass though, does that make it better?

What about parking lot sex. Did you keep the rubber to dispose of later. Yeah I lied I have littered. I was a groundskeeper at Worlds of Fun I hate littering but that used rubber getting winged out the window!

I'm sure it's different now, but when I was in the Navy, when we were a certain number of miles away from shore, trash just went in the water off the fantail.
God only knows how much garbage I've dumped in the ocean. But that's just what we did. At least it was mainly paper and cans. That was back before the days when everything was plastic. |
