If you were the Chiefs DC what changes would you make?

Activate Pennel, Sit Clark, bump Jones out to D-end. Ridgers and Tannehill had some success running the ball so I would spy the QB.

Discuss.....

Pennel needs to be active every game and be apart of the DT rotation

Thornhill needs reps, so keep him on the field over dirty Dan and work with him on his tackling.

I play Ragland more at LB, he is raw and will develop with first team reps
Zach Brown signed somewhere the other day IIRC

Encourage key players from the 2007-2008 Giants defense (i.e. the only time Spags looked like a legit DC) to come out of retirement and sign with the Chiefs.

How long are we stuck with Mathieu the guy sucks as much as Clark. We keep overpaying for others unwanted trash. The dude is avoiding contact most likely he knows he is a midget at his position now days and is afraid to get hurt. I am off today and rewatched the game this morning wow terrible safety play by He and Thornhill. Unwilling to stick their nose in and make a tackle. When the face of your defense (Mathieu Era) refuses to get into the fray it rubs the guys wrong who aren't getting payed the big bucks. One particular play leads me to believe there is some hard feelings. Henry pops through a hole Ragland I think his him three yards in backfield stands him up but his power drags him 5 to 6 yards downfield while Money Badger stands and watches. After play is over Badger extends hand to help up. Player reaches out turns looks sees who it is and retracts hand gets himself up turns back to Money Badger and walks away. Yeah they know!

yeah, the thing casual fans don't think about is that when you're in man all the time it means your secondary is not facing the line. So by the time they know it's a run play, Henry's already at full speed and into the second level.

I would've been okay with taking our chances there IF we were run blitzing. I think with a back like Henry you need to get him before he gets a head of steam rolling. You've got to blow the play up in the backfield. They did some of that early and then got away from it.

The problem is you have to play each game depending on the opposition. We struggle the most with balanced teams. The Titans reminded me of the Patriots. Run, run, run then throw right over the middle.

Yesterday's loss was on the offense. Game should have been over in the 1st quarter. We go up 24-0 there and we'd be talking about all the sacks this defense got.

Not as much as Money Badger. Sadly the best safety on the field yesterday was Sorenson and this has happened in many games this year. There are few teams Sorenson could start for or get significant playing time for yet he is outplaying the rest of our safeties and for that I am really sad.

This has been evident for weeks. Mathieu is a Deion Sanders disciple in that he makes too many business decisions on the field. All talk. Average ability. Non-tackler. Thornhill is getting exposed as a poor open field tackler as well.

If I was the defensive coordinator, I'd probably look at the team coming and see whether they're a passing team or a running team. And then I'd plan my defense accordingly. For example, the Titans are a running team so I'd play them like they were going to depend on their large running back.

It seems like an easy concept to embrace, but we don't do it now.
