A "settlement" requires the consent of both parties.

You do realize the Chiefs can't reach an injury settlement unilaterally, right?

I know what their cap hits are. I also know that the Chiefs can't do anything until

1) the players are healthy and can be cut or
2) the players themselves decide to do something.
