How can anybody NOT like this move?

26 years old
5’10 200 lbs
4.35 speed (elite)
1.51 10 split (elite)

The Chiefs had the least explosive RB room in the NFL. Only 17 explosive runs of 10+ yards in 17 games. This kid can block too. $3 million is cheap as hell.

They had zero juice once Pacheco was out. None. Perine and Hunt were 4.6 guys when they were young. They weren’t explosive at all last year.

Load the RB room with young explosive playmakers. They’re gonna draft another explosive kid in this draft too to make it 3 young guys with elite speed.

Thank God

Really the same can be said about all 49ers running backs, though. Every one of them is hurt all the time. Seems like they are starting some 4th option most games. Maybe this guy can escape that with us like Jerrick McKinnon did.

Perhaps, but he's only ran the ball 327 times in his whole career. Not exactly beating him into the ground there.

lol that is pretty important.

Looking at who was available not sure I see anyone really intriguing so hopefully our training staff will keep him healthy. 49ers always had a ton of injuries so makes me wonder about their staff. Time will tell I guess.

Yeah, that season ending hamstring injury seems like piss poor management. He exacerbated it way worse after the initial injury from what I've read so maybe they pushed him back too quickly.

Pacheco ran a fast 40 also. It's all about how that speed translates on the field. If not for his injury history, people would be more excited about this IMO.

100%

This dude is legit when healthy. Hopefully it turns out like McKinnon in terms of putting the injuries behind him. But this guy has legit talent. Do the people in this thread who don't know who he is even watch the NFL outside of Chiefs games? Mitchell is a talented back who has been hit with injuries his first few seasons, just like McKinnon was.

Wasn’t McKinnon a broke dick before the Chiefs too?

Maybe the lighter workload helped.

I mean, goddamn. He's suited up for 27 games in 4 years. Total. And a significant chunk of those are from his rookie season.

Gross.

Always hated him at 49ers, thought Shanny used him too much.
