We all know this is a long shot. It works out or it doesn't. It's a home run or a strike out. As a prospect he's a top 10 talent - as injuries go it's a horrible one to have.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

He had a pod this morning. Here are the cliff notes:

-Gave the pick a C+
-Acknowledged that Simmons is very talented
-Is worried about the injury on a 300+ lbs player
-They better be right
-The upside is undeniable if they are are right
-They better be right
-No pick would help the future more if they are right
-Matt wanted Burden
-Again…they better be right

He made a great point that today needs to be a great day for Veach. Needs to get 3 guys to come in and make an immediate impact now

If they took Burden they "better be right" too, and no, that wouldn't be a sure thing either.

I don't believe there are too many sure fire prospects every year in the draft. Every pick is a gamble, some less than others. Everyone forgets how Andy handles rookie WR's in his scheme and thats a slow ramp up. Not likely Burden bursts onto the season much of his first season with the Chiefs had he been picked.

All intents and purposes you can quantify that sentiment for every pick to the 5th round

The risk there is that he's a diva WR or an immature guy with maturity issues.

Which is nearly every WR.

Not that he's physically unable to play the game.

There are more questions for Burden on the field than Simmons.

He didn't just fall because of character issues. The raw talent is undeniable but he's very far from a sure thing. Some thing he might be a slot only guy, limited route tree, etc.

The only question with Simmons is health, and maybe maturity.

I just wanted to add that Verdame was adamant about the Chiefs not taking a T (even said he'd put his rep on the line), so let's not pretend he's above being biased because he agrees with you.

And I guarantee that’s mostly why he graded the pick a C+.

He walked that back on his pod with Tucker earlier this week. He also fully acknowledged that gracefully and said he truly hopes the kid works out.

Which is why I like him. He’s gracious and can be honest when he’s wrong and take the heat.

Meanwhile Matt Lane is NEVER wrong, EVER. He is the expert, that’s how it’s gonna be and you’re not smarter than him because he put in work and made the KCSN draft guide.

I’m sure folks are thrilled to hear Seth Keysor’s dad jokes and how his wife is hot and he’s lucky to have her for the 5,457th time. Great content there.

And if you think yesterday was bad, today Josh Briscoe is joining their draft coverage today. Can’t wait to hear that guys unfunny jokes/humor again with a touch of condescension if they Chiefs take a risk on a guy with any kind of trouble off the field that he’ll surely grandstand on yet again.

Unwatchable egotistical garbage

Brisco is the absolute worst IMO.

I can tolerate Lane, because he has a decent football mind. Brisco is that little bundle of sticks that has no business being there.

We think alike.
Verderame is rational and at times funny with his commentary. He gives you a dose of reality and optimism at the same time which is a skill not many have.

Lane and Keyser, I switch the channel each time their faces come on. Unbearable to listen to. Lane in particular has this annoying voice and seems to always be whining about everything. I don't want that negative energy when I have to listen to Chiefs content.

Derrick and Jacobs are also great. They get straight to football talk and even when they deviate from talking football, it's somehow related to football. It's enjoyable to listen to them both. You can tell they have true insight about the team.

Agreed. KCSN is pathetic besides the weird games team. I think Taylor is good. The breakdowns from Kysor.

Verdarame is the best independent take of Chiefs football. Not even close.
