I'm one of those that doesn't really care one way or the other. I don't think anyone would argue that it would improve our coverage...

But.... I'm sick of everyone having the mindset that Law is the only way we'll be competitive. How many damn idiot media reports do I have to read that say "Unless the Chiefs sign Ty Law, they really didn't do much to improve..." or "Ty Law could be the difference between a SB run and another 9 win season..."

Blehhh....

And if we did sign him.... all we'd hear about is KC SB favorites! Ty Law taking them to the SB!

I'm just really tired of the bullshit when we don't need him as badly as people would think....

Would the people saying that been right last year? We can never know. But we did finish 10-6, just out of the playoffs. Warfield was out the first 4 games and Surtain was injured a little off and on. LJ was unstoppable, and the O was on a roll. If the Chiefs would have had Law.... Heh.

Is this legit? Roaf restructured his contract? I guess that could mean we're going to sign Law.

Or maybe Roaf is thinking about retiring...

I was thinking the same thing as you. Roaf may be pondering retirement as that was a rumor a month or so ago. That would really put a damper on the start of this season as Roaf is the rock of the O Line IMO.

I saw the report on Metro Sports. They said that Roaf was going to retire, but the Chiefs rolled out the money to keep him around another year.

Now, obviously since he was still under contract, they likely just shifted some of his base salary into a bonus, lowering his cap number for this year.

That said, I think this was more of a effort to keep Roaf than to free up money to sign Law.

I never knew that wrapping crisp new C-notes around an ailing hamstring or two was the miracle cure. How about that?

Could possibly be both. Keep Roaf around, and sign another veteran to help give this team a shot to contend.
