How about when the girl is the buddy's ex GF? What are the rules of engagement there? Is there a time limit? Or is it hands off for all eternity?

I married my buddy's ex GF so I hope I haven't violated some kind of unwritten law. He was in our wedding and he seems to be OK with it so I think I'm good. I didn't date her until they'd been broken up for over a year so I'm going to say that's the time limit.

I believe you must seek permission from the buddy, and there needs to be a considerable period of time since the break up.

Being that you would know when your buddy was for the most part "over" it, that's the time limit. AND you still ahve to ask. MINIMUM give a heads up that you have those intentions.

Hmm thats usually set by your group of friends. I know my friends are pretty much hands off for that type of shit. Kinda depends on the relationship your boy still has with the girl.

Also remember he has all the ammunition in the world to talk shit on you and her.
