I will say I'd much rather we do away with the Booing of the team coming out and the "bullshit" chant.

The first one is just stupid, unless, of course, it's your rival. The second is stupid because 99% of the time it's on a call that was OBVIOUS and we just don't like the refs calling a BLATANT flag on us.

To be honest, I could care less if it offends little kids, moms, or old people. I think it's just not a classy thing to do. Very tacky IMO, and I hope it stops. It just makes KU look bad. Alot of schools have chants like this, but it's not really an excuse. At least we aren't like Missouri and rush the floor when we beat unranked teams in basketball.

Honestly, I could not tell what they were chanting. I found myself wondering if they were still doing that chant or something new. You really can't make it out on TV. Unless you already know what they say, it is unclear.

Maybe it's something to do with the direction they were shouting toward, but it was just as loud as always.

The alumni cheered the video.

But when Kansas kicked off for the first time midway through the second quarter, students yelled the chant, anyway, and the alumni section began booing loudly.

"It's a difficult situation," linebacker Mike Rivera said. "We love our fans. That's a great thing that they're doing something together, but there's some negative things with the younger kids there and the families and hearing it on TV. It's not necessarily representing our university that well."

Senior linebacker Joe Mortensen said the chant serves as motivation.

"When I try to hit people," Mortensen said, "that's what I try to do."
