Okay. Whatever. Cut the guy.

He's obviously a locker room cancer.

Don't let me ever see you brag about Gonzalez again. Not when Herm is fired at the end of this season and Tony shines for four or six more seasons. Not even when Tony's inducted.

Because I'll pull up every one of these posts you've made tonight.

Go nuts.

Yeah, I advocated cutting the guy...way to go all Pete-like emotional.

I've never said he WASN'T a HOF'er.

I have said that I'm disappointed that he took this route, and turned his back on the team.

I have said that he's a prima-donna, because a record was more important to him than the TEAM breaking a 12 game losing streak.

His performance as a football player isn't in question.

His leadership qualities at this point and time, are.

Even I understand his disappointment in not breaking the record at home against the team that employed the guy who held the record.

That's the team I follow.

Is he a prima dona? NO! NOTHING like the guy who's record he broke.

I can't believe the argument I'm having here.

I don't have a problem with him being disappointed.

I have a problem with him sulking through the locker room of a young team that is excited as hell to have broken a 12 game losing streak.

Then, if that isn't enough, he has to complain to the media about it into the following week of preparation for the next game.

Go home and cry on October's shoulder, but don't take what the TEAM accomplished away from them.

I'm gonna get bashed again for this, but had he gained 1 more yard on three of his catches that day, we wouldn't be having this conversation...

Problem is, Mr. OnThewarpath58, you're not a football fan. You're a Chiefs fan.

We'll never be able to agree because you care more about your team's colors than you care about the team's players.

Wrong again.

I'm a HUGE football fan. I try to watch as many games as I can on Sundays.

Where you are right is when it comes to the Chiefs, yes, I care more about the team than any one player that contributes to it.

That's unfortunate, IMO. The team belongs to one family. The game belongs to us all.

I've enjoyed Lou Groza, Jim Brown, Leroy Kelly, Dave Logan, Kevin Mack, Earnest Byner, Bernie Kosar (I especially enjoyed watching him win his SB ring with the Cowboys), John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Terrell Davis...

Also Larry Johnson, Tony Gonzalez, Trent Green, Priest Holmes...

A bunch of others. Settle down and enjoy the game.

My bad. "Earnest," not "Ernest."

You couldn't be missing the point more if you tried.

I enjoy the hell out of players. I just don't hold their success/failures above those of the team.

I hate the Broncos, but I've really enjoyed watching Brandon Marshall this year. I've really enjoyed watching Matt Forte. Among others.

But I'm not fans of those teams.

Whether the Chiefs as a TEAM win or lose is more important to me than if Dwayne Bowe catches 15 balls or 2. Or if Tony Gonzalez breaks another record this week or next.

You couldn't do a worse job of making your point if you tried.

You aren't a fan of your best football player. Just admit it.

The only ego Herm can't handle is Carl's...

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Herm is definitely a control freak with what I believe are some serious insecurities so it is easy for me to believe he has trouble with all the locker room egos. I believe that is why he did not help Bowe get his 5 yards and Gonzo get his 3 even though it was important to the player and fans. This is one area I believe DV was much better than Herm. DV made sure Priest got his touchdown even though he had to alter the game plan to get it.
