I guess many of you don't think Marty would make a good GM? I think he would make a great GM if he hired an offensive minded coach

the way I look at it is he made regular season worth watching. Herm makes it worth watching the draft.

I haven't seen any indication that Marty knows how to build a team. In fact, when he was here and was given more say on personnel, it was basically a disaster.

One thing's for sure though, Marty will get a good HC in place if it does happen.He always had a pretty good ability of surrounding himself with good coaches to help the team.

Marty would be a great GM. He knows Chiefs football, what the fans want, and he knows how to find a great coaching staff.

He knows Chiefs Football? I am guessing you are talking about mediocrity?

No he is not what fans want, the true homer fans that want the confort of the 90's 9-7 seasons, so they want Marty and love Herm.

9-7 season's is way better than having one of the top 5 draft picks. A high draft pick is a nice way of say "your team needs some ****ing help."

Gunner-bust HC
Tony Dungy
Wade Phillips
Mike McCarthy
Herm Edwards-bust HC
Cam Cameron-bust HC

Some great HC's, great position coaches, and great offensive/defensive minded coaches. Some didn't have a much success than other's at HC, but he helped develop these guys.

I'd take Marty back and win 9 games other than keeping Herm and win 1 game.

high draft picks are the biggest risk to take. You have to pay players more money and there's till no telling if they're going to last 10 years or 10 weeks. Its makes no sense that teams who have had high draft picks over the years (49ers) and still be in the top 5 teams to pick for next years draft. It just shows teams that have 9-7 records are better than the team that had 1st overall pick for years to come.
