As far as I'm concerned, I can't fault the guy for lack of experience/playing time because as a Sanchez pimp, they're both on an even playing field in that regard, though obviously Cassel's stretch is one of a professional nature.

I guess I just want to see more. Which is a good thing.

This really changes our focus on the draft, and I'm willing to bet the entire ****ing farm + tractor that trading down is now the strategy. It makes sense because as I've stated before, aside from our Corners and last years other top 3 picks( assuming Dorsey can make the shift to a 3-4 ); we have an empty roster and nary a pot to piss in.

You need the NFL Network. They jsut showed some film of Cassel. They showed early season vs late season to show his progress as a starter. They gave a pretty good argument for the trade I thought.

DeathCarlSatan, if you watch that youtube highlight video, you'll notice that the play breaks down an awful lot. The Pats' offensive line is not as good as advertised and it really showed when Cassel was in the game. Looks like he has the elusiveness to run out of the pocket and also to throw on the run. There didn't seem to be a lot of plays where he checked down to multiple reads, but from the clip, it didn't look like he had a ton of time to do that.

I think we hear a lot that he has an amazing offensive line as a supporting cast. But I think even most Pats' fans realize that Brady helps that o-line a lot more than we realized.

[QUOTE=Iowanian;5540772]I should go on record on my position of Cassel trade.

I'm in the middle. I'm a fence sitter on this entire issue. I don't love him, I don't hate him.

I do know the Chiefs needed a new QB and that Thigpen isn't the answer. I expected a high draft pick to go for a QB, and this fits that bill.

Given he didn't start in college, Cassel's body hasn't taken the beating that others have, so he doesn't have injury issues. He learned for 4 seasons on a championship team from one of the top QBs in the league's history.

I'll take it.

I hope the Chiefs can leverage the existing picks to improve the LB, Oline, Dline and WR depth with the assistance of a solid Draft and FA.

I fully anticipate trades of either Gonzalez, Johnson and or Waters(less likely IMO) and with the possibility of trade downs, wouldn't be surprised to see a 2nd round pick.[/QUOTE

LJ has to go.

Again this franchise goes forth with the safe pick that will do ok but not really pan out. I still don't believe that he has proven himself as an NFL starter any more than Derek Anderson, or any number of other backups who got their one shot did. He certainly doesn't have the arm strength I would like to see. For this reason the Pats were not able to use the long ball as they had in the previous year. He's a young Brad Johnson.

I'm fairly optimistic about it overall. I like his athleticism, his height. I think that it is weird that until last year, he hadn't started a game since high school and was signed by the Patriots. But then again, they have had this uncanny ability to find talent out of nowhere. I think as well as he played last year.....his decision making seemed to improve through the year.

Overall, I think it's good...I'm also a Vrabel fan. So. Good day. Now let's go get Housh and have the best possession receiver in the game. Probably not going to happen, but we can afford him.

I voted 'Good.' But that was because no 'undecided' choice was provided. That said, nothing will please me more than MC becoming a stud QB for the Chiefs. His got a tough name anyway. Sounds like "Castle."

there's something the Patriots staff saw in Cassel that nobody else can see. Makes more sense why McDaniels wants Cassel over Cutler from what Schefter(sp?) explained of the three way trade.

Oh I can see what they saw, I'm just a little surprised by it! I mean, that's some pretty heavy "Crystal Ball" shit taking a guy who had NO school play as a QB, and from what I've read, did some TE time as well at USC.

I'm curious; was he part of Pete Carroll's USC?

I'm not fully sold on Cassel but I think he has as much potential as Sanchez or Stafford. We get a QB with potential and a veteran linebacker for a second round pick. I have no problem with it at all.

I will trust Pioli and Haley for at least a few years. Nobody was raving about Miami's pickups last year and they made the playoffs.

Wait and see.

I'm not overly thrilled with the trade so I vote "bad."

The only thing better than this fantastic trade is watching the girls go ape shit over it. Who needs comedy central?

I just saw the video, and I am convinced he will retire after our first practice.

He's great, like Len Dawson, and Vick.
