I wheedled a beautiful Larry Johnson All Star jersey out of a drunk man for a low price.

I hate him. I've never worn it.

I no longer have any jerseys. I had a Priest and an LJ. My brother now has them both.

I never catch crap for wearing my Len Dawson jersey.

I remember when Donnie was traded, I had his jersey and I took it out of the rotation (I can never bring myself to discard them.... even the Bono jersey)...then, I got to bring it back into circulation a couple years ago.

I am all about going young, but I think at a point, you have to have some veterans to show the younger guys the way.

I also think that the young players need time on the field to develop. Losing Gonzo takes away a ton of third down conversions. It takes away a lot of snaps from the offense because they will be sitting on the sidelines when they could have been converting a third down.

Remember, every third down conversion is at least three more snaps.

Plus, this team has been losing for so long, that they need to get that taste out of their mouth.

I understand that you don't build around a TE. However, every situation is different, and I am not sure that a low second round pick really makes up for what Gonzo gives the Chiefs on the field, even if it IS for only two more years.

And, lets face it. If the Chiefs are competetive this year, and a playoff team next year, then Gonzo will probably want to come back for a 'chance' to win a ring.

Again, I truly understand why trading him makes sense, but I think that sometimes you have to look beyond the way things look on paper.

I won't bash the Chiefs if they trade him for a second. A second is VERY good value for a 33 old TE, even one that is going to the HOF. But, I won't bash them for not trading him either.

If this does go down, I won't necessarily celebrate it. I mean, kudos to Pioli for turning Gonzalez for more than the 3rd rounder we thought we'd get for him at the trade deadline last season. But I can't say it's a great day when a team icon who's given his all game in and game out gets dealt away.....

If Pioli trades Gonzo I will lose confidence in his decision making ability. Gonzo will be more valuable to our offense than anybody they can pick in the draft.

As much as I would hate to see Tony go, you have to ask yourself this question.

Would you trade your second round pick for Tony Gonzales knowing he had 1 maybe 2 years in the tank? If the answer is no, then that means you would take the 2nd for Tony.

At this late stage in Tonys carreer it's about return on investment. Not one good year from a player.

The Chiefs rejected a 2nd round pick? Wow. I guess they don't want to completely hamstring Cassel. Too bad for Tony.

We don't know what has happened and anyone that claims to know what Pioli is doing behind the scenes is BS'ing.

Wait to see what happens. I'd say with his past history and his one draft/trade he has made here warrants us being patient and that we will get the best deal. For crissakes there were calls for an investigation because we got such a good deal on the Cassel trade.

If he can do better than a 2nd round pick for a TE with 2 years left then he should be GM of the year.

My thoughts as well.

We just spent a bloody fortune on Cassel to throw to ????? Bowe has been inconsistent, but serviceable. Beyond that, who the F do we have to throw the ball to?

If we get rid of our best receiver, he's going to get killed behind an OL that is suspect at best. If we trade Tony, we're going to have to get some serious value, or the Cassel trade, IMO, will be a yr 1 flop.

In regards to "too bad for Tony". I care for Tony, like I care for any other modern day Pro Athlete - I don't, unless they're wearing our Jersey on Game Day. They're just numbers to me these days.

I don't want to see Tony go. Losing him really hurts the offense. However, getting a second round pick for him is pretty damn good. We used a first on him and in return he gave us 85 - 90 percent of his career. A HOF career. Getting a second after all that for him isn't too bad.
