No. The one meal per week helps out tremendously.
The third week is tough but when the fourth week hits you can see the finish line.

Um...I ordered everything at once. It was about $500.
That was everything I ate for a month + the two-week transition and I had some left over for post-workout nutrition afterwards...about a month's worth....so it wasn't that bad. I am considering doing it again next year because it worked so well.

I've been doing extremely low carb for the last 2 weeks and I'm averaging a nearly 6lb a week weight loss.

You should try swimming at the YMCA. (I have had two knee surgeries) I started slow and worked up to 1.5 miles a day. It is also good for cardio. Ang |

The thing about going low carb to lose weight is that it will all stick back on you once you go back to a heavy carb intake. Low carb has to be a way of life.

The same can be said for any calorie-restriction diet. Once you start eating more than you burn, you'll gain weight, low-carb or not. The thing about high-protein and fat diets is that it's hard to overeat because of how energy dense the food is. Your stomach is sensitive to fatty acids, and as you take them in, you feel much fuller for longer. That's why it's easy to eat a ton of carbs and still feel hungry... your stomach isn't sensitive to carbs in the way that it is to fats. So, it doesn't send the signal to stop eating like it does when you take in fat.

I got tired of trying to diet last summer and went to the Dr. He tells me he wants me to lose slowly, too fast and it comes back with extra. He gave me a script for some prescription metabolism boosters that have been tested and proven safe. He then mentions that since I like golf, he wants me to play twice a week but I can't ride in a cart, I have to walk.
When I started, walking 9 holes twice a week was about all I could do because of pain in my ankles, hips and knees. But I kept on and in a few months I could walk 9 anytime but 18 was a bit tougher. Now it takes walking 27 holes to do me in. BTW, I don't spend all day on the course either. I get up early and am at the course a little after daylight, it takes me a little over an hour to walk 9 holes. Early in the morning you have the course pretty much to yourself and don't have to wait on people. Hit and walk, hit and walk. If I start before 7 I can usually have 9 holes in, back home for a shower and to the office by 9 am. It's been over a year now and a good 30+ pounds later and I'm still going. 30 pounds in a year may not sound like much to some, but I've been at it long enough now with just a few minor adjustments that this is something that has been more of a lifestyle change than quick drop. Dr asked me this spring how the golfing for excercise was going, then tells me he wants me to up it to 3x a week. I love you Doc! ![]()

Burn more calories than you consume on a daily basis.

And yet, people struggle with those things every day. Skinny people. Everyone has their weaknesses. I haven't had weight issues. And, I hate it when fat people complain about their metabolism.... as if they are cursed and MUST remain fat. The reality is that regardless of your situation, you can change it. But, to make it out that it is easy.... is incorrect. It isn't easy. But, it is still a choice. |

Back on track. Yep, still been eating junk more than I should. That ended yesterday. Done very well today. I'm going to do this for one week to see if I can any difference without weighing. Weighing in starts Sunday.
Light workout tonight. 20 minutes of getting the heart rate up, but nothing too strenuous. Anyone know of any exercises for working out the neck? I've heard that putting your head back and stretching your jaw is good. |
