I'll be the third on this bandwagon. I agree, the movie was better the second time around. Not sure why, but I was laughing my ass off the second time I watched it. The first time I watched it i was a bit dissapointed.

IMO, the same can be said about Hot Rod.

If you appreciate 'tongue-in-cheek' sci-fi, "Buckaroo Banzai and His Adventures Across the 8th Dimension" can be a fun flick.

Among the others listed, Gattaca was fantastic, and was nominated for at least one Academy Award. I can understand how the movie might not have much appeal to those that can't understand it on an intellectual level.

I did like AI. A very creepy update of Pinocchio. Agreed on Kelly's Heroes and Body Double.

What do y'all think of "Local Hero"?

I don't know if I'd say it doesn't get respect, because I don't know exactly how much it's supposed to get, but I always thought Miami Blues with Alec Baldwin and Jennifer Jason Leigh was a good movie that a lot of people never watched.
