I really don't want this to turn into a Pollard argument, but he didn't seem to have that problem in Houston. Which leads me to believe that coaching matters.

I'll have to take your word for it as I didn't really follow much NFL last year (except the Chiefs). Yeah, Gunther's defensive coaching ability has "jumped the shark".

****her was never the defensive genius that Chiefs fans thought he was.

He has always been an overblown blow hard, and Jim (Logical, RIP) and I were saying from the start when he was rehired that he woudn't be able to fix that defense.

Anyone want to argue that we were wrong?

Pretty good summary.

I just want a good NT(hopefully cody), good lb( hopefully spikes)
and a good reciever(tate, benn, byrd) and id consider this draft a huge success.

Mays if hes there at 50 intrigues me. Having mays AND berry would be sick, but he looks like a fast bernard pollard. All armtackles

Oh, and what in the blue **** was Jacksonville thinking last night?

Teams like them and Denver are the reason there are still some kick-ass prospects available early tonight.

The run on CBs and DTs is the reason so much other talent fell.

My Draft Thoughts;

1. Sam Bradford the consensus #1 QB is taken 1st and wakes up to find Tebow's picture plastered over every sporting site and newspaper. Motivation?

2. Lions - how long until Gunther Cunningham ruins Suh?

3. In 2 years McDaniel will be a draft genius or have gone full reerun. Thomas over Dez and Tebow over Clausen and McCoy?

4. I'm glad Dez ended up in Dallas. Jerry wanted the kid and won't have a problem spending some money giving him some off field support.

5. I guess Peter Carroll likes Texas players better than his own USC guys.

6. I wouldn't be shocked if 4 years from now Indy ended up with the best 1st round draft pick.

7. The NYG love pass rushers. Even extremely raw pass rushers.

8. Rex Ryan will have the best trio of corners in the league. He can leave them alone to bump and run, and blitz the crap out of opposing QBs. The Dolphins and Bills better get accustomed to using their hot reads very often.

The end of the round last night saw some EXCELLENT picks.

Wilson to the Jets is highway ****ing robbery. If Cromartie plays to even 70% of his potential, they are going to be nasty in the back end.

I'm with you, Jerry Hughes was a great selection for Indy.

And thus far, Detroit is winning the draft. The move up to get Best was very savvy.

I'm really shocked he lasted as long as he did.

I think Houston made a HUGE mistake taking Jackson over him.

While I agree that the McClain pick had some impact, I think the Jags pick of Alualu had an even bigger impact.

Why not just take ****ing Tebow and sell the season tickets? And does anyone really think they couldn't have gotten Alualu in the 2nd round? 3rd?

JAX, SD, and Denver were the big losers last night AFAIC. I pretty much said the same thing as you in the draft thread. That trade AJ made was a huge reach.

While I'm not on the McClain bandwagon, and it was somewhat of a head scratcher, I think Oakland made one of their better 1st round picks in the last few years.
