Yes and no. Alot of the scrambles could have been avoided, Cassel just has piss poor pocket awareness and downfield vision. Its really frustating to see open receivers that a total scab like Matt Moore could hit that Cassel can't.

Wilcots said on several occasions that Cassel had panicked.

Which is exactly what some of us have been saying for three years.

There's a difference between actual pressure and perceived pressure. Any time a defender is within 5 yards of Cassel, dude freaks.

This. You were posting about it in the game thread so I know you watched it, but the Chargers pressured Rodgers way more than the Phins did to us today. How did that workout?

I'm at the point where I don't even really get excitd one way or another when this team wins or loses as long as he is at qb it won't matter.

I personally think its psychological with him going back to his USC days. I call it the backup syndrome, its the fear of getting your shot but being too afraid of making a mistake to take full advtange of your opportunity. Its why he doesn't force many interceptions, its why he freaks in the pocket, he just thinks about it too much. Cassel has played his best when we are basically in a 2 minute no huddle mode, just sort of backyard style play is when he has made alot of his best plays. Basically not thinking about the play and letting natural talent take over.

1st half - no, 2nd half yes. 1st half he dealt with the pressure - he was running and was keeping his eyes downfield (thus the throw over the LOS). 2nd half the pressure got to him and he completely choked.

Nobody is arguing that is what happens to Cassel. I'm surprised he didn't go fetal in the 1st quarter. With a clean pocket he can be an above average QB. With a bad pocket (today) he's one of the worst QB's in the league. No reason why Stanzi hasn't been active to take snaps in the 4th quarter of games like this. Stanzi should have 3 quarters of play under his belt.

Yeah, that is what I saw. He was running his clod hoppers when he didn't really need to, consequently missing wide open receivers.

I swear, one time I hollered to my wife, that Cassel had slipped in his own shit.
I think his suckage may have infected the whole team, as they are tired of taking up the slack for him.
Maybe the Monday night celebrations got a little conceited on Cassel's part.

I think what we're seeing now is teams are focused more on defending our passing attack.

When we had Charles he was their primary focus. Now Cassel is getting the full brunt of their attention because Bowe/Breaston/Baldwin are our primary playmakers.

More attention on our passing game is bad news for Cassel.

The protection was putrid today, but Cassel has had ok protection before this game and still not much offense to show for it. This is a "make plays at the QB position or **** off" league. Matt Cassel needs to **** off.

Being a person who played somewhat meaningful sporting games in my life, it is really tough to come back after a big win like we had on Monday night.

With that said, today was unnacceptable. The defense couldn't get off the field. We ran two times the number of plays the Phins did and had 12 more minutes in the TOP.

In my opinion it is looking like drafting Houston in the third when Mallett was on the board (if I'm remembering correctly) was a mistake.

When the defense brings more guys than the line can block, it's the job of the qb to recognize it and move his protection around. You can most certainly put that on Cassel.

As long as we are "in" playoff contention we won't sniff Stanzi at all.

The fact that Pioli thinks Cassel is or ever could have been the answer at qb makes me think this franchise is going to stay where it always has been. And frankly I'm sick of it. I didn't even get that pissed today. I just can't get into seasons like this anymore when you know you have no chance to do anything of importance.
