Right now I'm doing the mage's guild (or whatever it's called here) quest, and regularly getting pieces of a set as I go through it. Of course, it's mage armor and I don't use it.

I either hit level 31 or 32 last night.
I'm finding that trying to get sets is even more distracting than all the side quests. I've got a couple full sets already just going back and forth through a couple areas.

And yes, they're not NEARLY as good as the stuff you can smith at your given level but the game is already WAY too easy as it is, so I've sworn off smithing. I've limited myself to only using yellow or purple items and it has created a lot more excitement and tension for me.

The last mages guild mission I did was actually fairly tough. Everything in cave used lightning attacks, and at some point I failed a dispel on a chest and got hit with a lightning weakness curse. Ouch. I didn't die, but I damn near ran out of potions and got pounded on worse than I had in the past three or four days of playing.

I've also noticed that creatures you encounter during quests are much tougher than the same types of creatures you encounter just wandering around.

Yeah, especially when I'm wearing an executioner style gladiator helmet and armor covered with short spikes...

Are you just grinding for hours in hopes that you find entire sets?

The Mountain Trolls in Haxhi drop a purple/yellow about once in every 6 kills. So I spawn 1, get it down to almost no health, run away, save, and then kill it. If it doesn't drop a purple/yellow, I re-load and kill it again until it does. In terms of time, I'm getting anywhere from 5-8 purple/yellow items an hour, sometimes more.

There are other mobs that work (Ettin Warpriests in Ettinmere) but the drop rate is much lower.

I'm level 19 right now and I am wearing/using nothing but purple/yellow items, with EIGHTY SIX yellow/purple items in my stash back at my house.

The one part of this game I really dislike is the stealth/stealing aspect. I started the Travelers quest just because I hadn't done it yet, and it sucks hard. So much so that I started playing ME3.

Yeah, the first guy is ****ing pissing me off. He's always standing in the same place - he's IMPOSSIBLE to pickpocket.

In one of my previous playthroughs, I noticed him walking around the docks but that was before I had accepted the quest so I had no idea.

And I've walked into the Inn at 2am - everybody BUT him is sleeping.

You don't get a bonus for actually taking it without him noticing. I stole it and took off running.

Same thing with the chapel. The ****ers just sit there all night long.

How ****ing lame. Don't know what I would have gotten from this quest, but I have no desire to continue it.

Just finished the Travelers quest line. You actually get a pretty sweet set of rogue armor out of it.

Total for wearing the entire set of armor...you get.

+70% critical hit damage
+1 to Stealth
+15% chance to critical hit
+25% fire damage
10% experience bonus
+15% fire resistance
+18% mana
+10% gold drops

Total armor rating for all pieces is 381. Not bad if you're rolling almost pure rogue.
