I just hope we don't do something stupid like make Quinn #2.

I'm praying Cassel blows an ACL and the Stanzi era begins.

I doubt that there will ever be a Stanzi era. Most 5th rounders don't ever get an era.

If things don't change as of today, Cassel. He's the best QB on the roster as of right now.

I know it's only preseason, but based on what I saw from Ricky Stanzi in his first preseason, I would disagree with the thought that Cassel is the best on the roster.

I have no illusions of him ever being anything more than a solid clipboard holder, but I do know that he has a better arm, has better vision, and showed more moxie in his limited opportunity than Matt Cassel has ever shown.

I have very little doubt that Ricky Stanzi is more talented and better overall than Matt Cassel.

That just speaks to how bad Cassel is.

You may or may not be right. That's why I said Cassel is the best QB "right now". They won't play Stanzi based simply on potential unless their hands forced like injury or Cassel is horrible in camp. Still very doubtful anyone else sees the field besides Cassel.

My point is that, regardless of what the Chiefs do, Stanzi is a better QB right now.

That has nothing to o with potential.

He has more talent and showed he has a better understanding of the game, and better pocket awareness, and a more evolved ability to make reads.

Glad u believe this. Doubtfully Crennel and Pioli see it. coaches will play it safe and go with the Veteran QB 99% of the time unless their hand is forced.

Despite Pioli bringing in "competition" as he promised...it has to be Cassel if he's not hurt.

How anyone could think otherwise is beyond me.

Most don't, but I like Quinn fighting it out with Stanzi for no 2.

Let's just all agree we hate the fact we have Casshole as our starter and that nothing will be done to replace him. Because it's true.

That said our no 2/3 is very promising. Here, for the first time in years, we have 2 players with upside and youth. We have legit NFL talent and motivation for these guys to push themselves.

Mostly due to the fact our starter is ****ing horrid and a starting job/huge contract is just hanging out there in front of them.

Denver rookie QB John Elway, on Jack Lambert, after Lambert and the Steelers knocked Elway out of his first game as a pro (1983).

Agreed.

I just can't believe we're being thankful for a legitimate #2 QB

Oh, I don't know about that.

I seem to recall a glorious 7-year period from 1997-2005 involving a smart, sexy, and suave backup who was the heart and soul of the entire roster.
