why would the Chiefs not be a suitor for Kelly. He could do whatever he wants here, top pick, no talent, he would have years to add his own players lol

Short of having an established franchise QB, Clark will never be in a better position to attract top talent at GM and coach than he is with what could potentially be the top pick in the draft.

and I say that tongue in cheek, really...I hope we get the best...but I find myself cheering for pick sixes against the Chiefs because I start the opposing defense every week in fantasy football...it's that pathetic, and that sad.
I root for Charles...and the defense...and a loss. That's about it. |

Guys I don't think I could handle going from worse to not much better! The Chiefs really need to make some good choices on the next hires!

Why?
Pioli is the highest paid GM in the league and at the time of the hire, he was at the top of that A-List. That last sentence is stupid.

Clark Hunt's first and only hire was an "A-List" guy. At the time, there wasn't a more highly touted candidate. Crennel and Wies were also "A-List" hires as coordinators.

Yeah, you really can't fault the effort. It just didn't work out, so we try again. Gotta do the same thing at QB. Over and over till we hit on one. Don't go into a F-in' 40 year shell and swear of drafting a QB in the first, FFS.

This guy is out in left field. Pioli is supposedly one of the highest paid GMs in football. Maybe they'll go cheaper next time but this team has never been shy about coaches or front office people. Vermeil, Herm, Al Saunders, Weis, etc.. history would say the opposite, ownership has never been afraid to go get their guy and pay him what he wants.

Vermeil's staff was one of the highest-paid in history. Not only was Saunders making near-HC money but their quality assistants had quality assistants. At one point, they had something like 24 coaches on staff. |

And you would think this is an attractive spot. New GM/coach would be able to come in and make their mark immediately with a quarterback, and there are many more pieces in place than you would normally find on a 1-9 team. They shouldn't have to roll over the roster the way they did in 2009, so there's at least the outside potential here for a very fast turnaround. |
