KANSAS CITY CHIEFS

Prominent free agents: LT Branden Albert (franchise tag), WR Steve Breaston (released), DL Glenn Dorsey, S Abram Elam, RB Peyton Hillis, OL Russ Hochstein, DE Ropati Pitoitua, QB Brady Quinn, ILB Brandon Siler, DT Shaun Smith.

Issues: After tying for the league's worst record in 2012 (2-14), Kansas City has had quite an eventful offseason. The hiring of head coach Andy Reid in January was followed by last month's news that quarterback Alex Smith will be acquired from the San Francisco 49ers. Then came Monday's flurry of moves — wideout Dwayne Bowe and Pro Bowl punter Dustin Colquitt signed five-year deals while Albert was tagged. If Smith manages to stabilize the passing game, a team that boasted six Pro Bowlers in 2012 could easily be among the contenders again in 2013.

Our advice: As far as free agency goes, Reid and new GM John Dorsey have put most of the hay in the barn already. The expected release of quarterback Matt Cassel might allow for more options, though. A veteran inside runner to pair with Pro Bowler Jamaal Charles would be something to ponder, and Cedric Benson could be the ideal guy to reprise the role formerly filled by Thomas Jones and Hillis (who didn't do it nearly as well in 2012). New defensive coordinator Bob Sutton might also want to lobby some of his former charges with the New York Jets, namely run-stopping end Mike DeVito and linebacker Bart Scott, who could give the unit a little extra attitude. Either player should be available for the right price. Otherwise, it's time to figure out whom to spend the No. 1 draft pick on ... or where to send it in a trade.

You get no credit for whom when you end your sentence with a preposition.

From Oxforddictionaries.com:

To sum up, the deferring of prepositions sounds perfectly natural and is part of standard English. Once you start moving the prepositions to their supposed ‘correct’ positions you find yourself with very stilted or even impossible sentences. Well-established and famous writers over the years, such as George Orwell, Anthony Burgess, and Julian Barnes, have been blithely stranding their prepositions to no ill effect: please feel free to go and do likewise!

Finally, a prepositional joke, courtesy of reddit.com:

A snobbish English teacher was sitting in an Atlanta airport coffee shop waiting for her flight back to Connecticut, when a friendly Southern belle sat down next to her.

‘Where y’all goin’ to?’ asked the Southern belle.

Turning her nose in the air, the snob replied ‘I don’t answer people who end their sentences with prepositions’.

The Southern belle thought a moment, and tried again. ‘Where y’all goin’ to, bitch?’

A preposition is a fine thing to end a sentence with.

Reid has never had the big back idea. He always has backups similar to the starters.

Great work on the part of John Dorsey.
Time to clear some more room by cutting Cassel.

Alex Cassel will NEVER leave this team. They just act like his name changes every few years.

It would piss people off because it would be stupid. Let him earn it. If he wants a new contract without earning it we were stupid to make the trade.
