KANSAS CITY, Mo. -
Holdout wide receiver Dwayne Bowe has reached agreement with the Kansas City Chiefs over his contract dispute, a source has told KMBC 9 News.

Bowe, who has missed all of the team's training camp, was spotted flying to Kansas City on Friday afternoon.

Bowe, 27, had been holding out while trying to get a long-term contract. He did not sign one before the league deadline for a long-term deal expired last month.

The Chiefs named him their nonexclusive franchise player last spring, which meant the team would have to offer him a one-year contract that would make him one of the five highest-paid players in the league. He could negotiate with other teams, but the Chiefs would have the right to match the offer or get two first-round draft picks as compensation.

The Chiefs have not yet confirmed that Bowe has reached an agreement with them.

The team plays its first preseason game of the year against the Arizona Cardinals Friday night at Arrowhead Stadium.

Good lord. I am willing to endure another year of Matt Cassel so long as I get a year off of Wendler. I hope we do when 10 games, even if it is with Cassel mediocrity and he gets another chance next year, just so that I don't have to deal with Wendler polluting every goddamned thread with his trolling/child-like logic/tripe.

I suspect this team will be something like the mid-90s Chiefs. Successful in large part due to a kickass running game (spearheaded by an epic O-Line) and a ridiculous defense.

Seriously, Bowe is just being selfish. Training camp sucks for a reason. It's all about group cohesion and overcoming adversity. You aren't getting anything out of holding out, Bowe. All you are doing is confirming that you are a talented, me-first player that needs to be shipped out.

Bowe probably doesn't want to be franchised next year. Pioli absolutely should NOT cave. He would be a weak GM if he did. The team always comes before the players. Trade Bowe and a pick for the Dolphins first round pick next year and move on. He is clearly not a team-player.
