Tom Brady (King of quick release and Super Bowl champ) was sacked 22 times last year in 19 games. Let me break it down for you...

Game 1 - Sacked 2x by NT
Game 2 - Sacked 2x by CB and OLB
Game 3 - Sacked 2x by OLB
Game 4 - Sacked 0
Game 5 - Sacked 0
Game 6 - Sacked 2x ILB/OLB and NT
Game 7 - Sacked 1x ILB
Game 8 - Sacked 2x OLB
Game 9 - Sacked 2x ILB and DE
Game 10 - Sacked 3x ILB/ILB, ILB, CB
Game 11 - Sacked 0
Game 12 - Sacked 0
Game 13 - Sacked 2x CB, DE
Game 14 - Sacked 1x OLB
Game 15 - Sacked 1x S
Game 16 - Sacked 1x DE
Game 17 - Sacked 0
Game 18 - Sacked 0
Game 19 - Sacked 1x DE

4 sacks by a DE over 19 games (22 total sacks) ....seems to be a trend, wish I could put my finger on it....
Your argument that DTs matter more than edge pass rushers and edge rushers are becoming obsolete is an atrocious take that doesn’t deserve a response.

How many more times did our all star interior defensive lineman Chris Jones sack Brady in the playoffs? Do you think pressure off the edge that doesn’t result in sacks has no effect?

And again, Edge rushers lead in sacks and pressures on every defense Spags has coached, that is not an arguable fact.

History has also shown that spags has always put a priority on the secondary. In nyg he went on a DB's spree draft and free agency. . We aren't going to fix the secondary, the lbs, and the DEs in one season. But if we spread our money around we can eliminate the gaps in the defense.

Priority was on the secondary when he had Strahan, Tuck, Osi? Priority was on the secondary when he had Vernon and JPP? I mean I get your point that he’s gone after DBs in FA and drafts but you can’t ignore that’s he’s had great edge rushing groups that lead the defense in sacks and pressures on all the defenses he’s been successful with.

Chiefs were only good at 1 thing last yr, rushing the QB. That's no longer an option this yr.

Chiefs sure did pick a helluva year/FA pool to get rid of their best pass rushers. There isn't ****in dogshit avaiable, probably worst FA season in recent memory. Berry being released I understand, he wasn't a factor last season at all, but Ford and Houston were. I'm fine w/ getting rid of 1, but getting rid of both is downright ****ing stupid.

Who's going to rush the passer next yr? Okafor, Speaks, KPass, a ****ing rookie? Jones will get paid long term, then he'll phone it in once he's tired of being doubled on every play since no one else on the DL will be worth a shit.
D-s gotta be better.

I’d love to know what makes people have this level of blind faith in Veach. Cause the team Dorsey built had a great year where they finally look like SB contenders? His outstanding 2018 draft? What is it?

On the flip side of that are those who have graded him a failure after only one year in the role. Where does that level of blind bigotry come from?

Hitchens, trading the best player on the defense, signing this guy to a 3 year up to 24 mil deal(which btw Mahomes and Hill will both be resigned and have their contracts begin to hit in that period) , the predicted signing of trash ass Ronald Darby to an expensive deal, the awful draft in 2018 outside of O’daniel

Spags, Watkins, Honey Badger were all good moves however this is being outweighed by the atrocious moves he’s making on the flip side.

Again we are winning and contenders because of what Dorsey did. Veach has shown us nothing that he can be trusted to build this team into a SB champion, and trading your best defensive player and only remaining even good edge pass rusher and signing Hitchens and Okafor to these reerun deals is absolutely not a great way to gain that trust.

15.5 Sacks and 2 FF is better than 13 sacks and 8 FF (7 of which we recovered)?

Then you factor in his pressures and the gap widens even more. For a forum that disliked Dee Ford because of his run defense, it’s hilarious to turn around and hype Chris Jones, someone who has the exact same issue except from the interior where it’s even more important.

If Dorsey would still be here we would still have Alex Smith at QB......nuff said!

Cause Dorsey didn’t draft Mahomes or anything. Genius analysis.

We are contenders because Veach had an obsessive man crush on Mahomes.

And while I have no issue with Dorsey in general, his "great defenders" and his defensive coordinator hold their fair share of blame for post season disappointments. Why do the Dorsey cum guzzlers keep ignoring that?

So Dorsey wasn’t the GM that had the power and took Mahomes. Should I be attributing all of Veach’s moves to the co-director of player personnel?

And yes, Dorsey fkd up not firing Sutton for years. Veach also added to likely costing us a SB by not replacing Sutton sooner, just like Dorsey. However our roster was talented on defense last year, we just had a fkn idiot at DC and people like to ignore that. Dorsey built this offense and the offense is why we’re contending, Veach has done nothing to help this.

I hope that replacing Sutton with Spags is enough for us to win this year, however I’m not going to simply accept the fact that trading and cutting 3 of the top 4 players on the defense is the correct thing to do in a year we are trying to win a title now.

Veach hired spags and he's trying to transition the defense as quickly as possible without hurting our ability to pay mahomes a few years from now. We're not going to completely change our D with a few super expensive superstars. Almost every single contract we can get out of by 2021-2022. We will get probably 6 players for the price of our expensive 3 (technically 2 since berry barely counts anymore) and they're all on contracts that are really easy to get out of.

We didn't bring in guys like okafur and Damien Wilson to be the answer on defense. If we're still paying these guys 3 years from now it's either because they're playing well or because we failed to draft a replacement. If veach does his job well the next few years, few of these guys will even be on our payroll.
